A "Cry of Fear" Roleplay?

With this being uploaded to Workshop recently it made me think of an idea I've had on my mind for a while, which is something like Nightmare/Epidemic RP but with more changes and no 'zombies', instead having more of a Cry of Fear setting. I don't know if it's ever been done before, I haven't seen anything like it in all my years of doing this shit, but I think if done right it'd be a good idea. These models can function when attached to players, and the SNPCs aren't overpowered but are dangerous, fitting into the classic scripts of Severance, Nightmare, Epidemic, etc.

I'm not a coder at all and I've never run a real community, but I'm good at administrating shit on a server basis and I've got fucking novels worth of possible non-autistic canon and anti-edginess for this sort of setting done in a realistic and potentially really fun way. My thoughts are some kind of disease turning people into monstrous psychopaths. Humans yet psychopathic and deformed all to hell. Think of Romero's "The Crazies" in a roleplay. Not an actual RP set in Cry of Fear, but with CoF themes, enemies, and atmosphere, set to real-life with semi-realistic disease outbreak canon.

I dunno, any of you kids want to form some kind of roleplay based around this idea and these SNPCs? Is it a shitty idea or one worth trying?

I mean, I'd play it.
It seems really interesting, I'm not sure if this has been done before(or attempted), so I suppose this could bring some new RP Experiences to the Table!.

The only thing, I think you'd have to deal with, would be maintaining quality-RP control.
Since, There's always going to be those 1-2 kids, who think they're some fucking semi-deformed thing(but, is some pretty fucker without any deformities), because some Deformed person fucked a normal person.
That also has some sorta super-power and has almost 0 reasons to be Insane, using it for an excuse to randomly kill.

Much as I love Cry of Fear. I don't see how'd this work unless we were all fragments of Simon's book/InnerDemons and even then we'd have to all be /incredibly/ edgy and psychologically disturbed. inb4 Doctor wannabes and Saw Runner copy cats.

That's why I was thinking more of some kind of unexplained disease turning people into grotesque psychos running wild throughout the city rather than using Simon's book or supernatural shit. Like I said, The Crazies (with more psychotic psychos).

Nightmare but with a very, very strict anti-edge code. And a heavily-enforced rule of "If you're diseased you don't become a vampire, grow a girldick, get blood-red eyes, purple hair, wings, ninja abilities, or pale vampire skin, you turn into a fucking bloodthirsty psycho with no humanity left at all".

 

I'd play it. But it's one thing talking about enforcing quality control and another actually doing it.

 

Which is why I wanted folks from C16 to be in on it. I've seen enough of most of you to know most of you are pretty chill and not autismo spergs when it comes to roleplay. If C16 could start the foundations for it then work our way up with good quality control and anti-edginess/anti-circlejerks, we'd have the next big thing. God knows roleplay needs something sorta fresh. After all Nightmare's biggest complaints were its edgelord characters, dumb settings, and huge circlejerks, so if we eliminate all those things with a unique idea thrown into it, Cry of Fear atmosphere/SNPCs/models, then we'd have something great.

 

Sure, as long as you don't have any of the crowd from low quality servers such as Cranberry and the like, it'd be fine.

 

Well, if you're looking for an apocalypse scenario where everyone is just crazy from a virus then look up Crossed. It's a comic and it's very...grotesque.

 

Now if only I had a schema and any knowledge of working with schemas and hosting servers.

I tested out the CoF SNPCs on some noded horror maps and they're even smarter and scarier than in Cry of Fear itself. If I can get some of them to work as playermodels or pills then set up a canon of "psycho disease scourges humanity" then I think I'll have something worth playing.

 

Any RP that can make my heart race or scare me would be awesome
Only time that happens to me is when stupid shit like CPs shooting at me in HL2RP

 

Why not just go the whole nine yards and do CW: Silent Hill?
There's a map for it and everything.
