Atomic A fallout roleplay - requires opinions.

Discussion in 'Discussion' started by Canoness, Jan 24, 2016.

  1. Hey you guys, I'm currently in the process with our friend PT1LLY in constructing a fallout roleplay - we decided it to be a military-esque roleplay, but that's about it. We'd love to hear from the community any ideas or suggestions you have in mind. We are currentely stuck on who should be the main faction that you roleplay as though, and what era it is based in. NCR, Enclave, BoS and maybe even Legion are choosable options, although as i previously said, we'd love to hear back from the community on any suggestions you guys may have!

Please keep it civil, and the suggestions reasonable.

Making it military based is interesting but may not work out in the long run since it may restrict the open feel of the wasteland. I wouldn't advise having a main faction either.

    Good luck anyhow.

    Main Faction: Wastelander
Place: Mojave Wasteland / Pre-ruins The Divide.
    Major Military Faction: NCR.

He said he wants the main faction to be military based. I agree with you if your intent was to suggest a non military based rp.

  5. We'll be taking this advice into account. Thank you for the replies.

  6. The divide roleplay seems pretty interesting to me tbh. idk about military fallout rp though.
I'd probably suggest something with the NCR considering that they're just the best faction for it.

  7. As far as location goes, I think it should go into an unexplored area of the Fallout universe. Kinda like this mod http://www.falloutthefrontier.com which takes place in Oregon or something, I think, while it is essentially the Legion against the NCR in that area.

  8. The two above posts seem really do-able, so from what I'm gathering would be an NCR type thing then. That'd be interesting and unique from the typical BoS roleplay/Enclave.

That would seem, REALLY, REALLY fucking cool.

Honestly, I can agree, but if this had sessions and stuff like Security Detail I won't see much of a problem with this. Most Fallout servers tend to be sort of typical and shitty anyway, atleast in a way if Canoness goes down the NCR route we'll be seeing something unique for once. They'd have to appease all parties though at the same time, so this'll be interesting. To add on to Anti's idea maybe a few BoS people help them out too or some locals. Would create some roleplay.

  10. I'd have to say the Legion. The Legion puts its members through rigorous painfully exhausting procedures and exercises as well with maintaining a zero failure policy, It just seems more interesting since the Legion's preferred choice of weaponry is melee and It'd seem like it would bring a interesting factor into training.

The BoS/Enclave have become so common throughout servers, it'd become the cliche if you were going to use them. BoS: 'Yeah we love technology and kill people, we're dicks', Enclave: 'Yeah we're dicks too, pro america and kill off anyone who wasnt born in the rig like us'.

The NCR could be cool but you'd really have to consider the timeline. The NCR have been through so many battles across the west coast it's ridiculous but, seems like the most realistic approach considering that the NCR are eventually becoming far to big for them to handle.

  11. I could imagine people would have problem with roleplaying as Caesar's Legion (being the main faction, I mean. There surely could be legionaries around, but never the main focus) whenever they are not in an assignment, because of how strict and brutal they are.

The Brotherhood of Steel that could be portrayed doesn't necessarily have to be exclusive, like the East Coast chapter in Fallout 3 for example who recruited from civilians and preferred to protect people instead of technology. I think the Enclave should always be left as an antagonist force or not even appear at all; if the focus is NCR and the Legion there's no real need to add the Brotherhood nor the Enclave into the mix.

I think the NCR is the best seeing as it allows for a more relaxed development within the unit/squad/whatever and a loose authority structure like with Security Detail.

  12. Enclave won't ever make an appearance but there will be things left behind for the crew to discover. As for Brotherhood they'll remain the small faction that they are, and it'll be up to the playerbase itself and the crew on how to deal with them. They can either kill them or save them when they're encountered eventually, but that's far down the road. I'd imagine we'd have four good roleplayers for a BoS team and that'd be it. I agree entirely with what Omega's saying about the NCR choice, Legion dosen't offer the relaxed enviorement - in reality we'd probably all be killing each other for small fuckups.

  13. I hate doubleposting, but I'm going to need some volunteers for a five man team of Brotherhood scouts, here's what we have so far
    Knight - Rhenz
    Scribe - Proximity Mine
    Scribe -
    Journeyman Knight - The Borg
    Apprentice Knight -

A small update, we've begun searching for content for the server, if you have any suggestions for our content pack, please do say something. I'm also going to need people who are willing to roleplay these positions either PM me for a full briefing on your role and purpose, you won't get these characters immediately and these guys will come way later down the road. We've decided our roleplays will be session based on Fridays.

id/nordicresistance if interested in roles or a forum pm will do.

  14. I was thinking the Spire Roleplay content should do. Here is a stable version: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=579946335 though as of now it doesn't include NCR soldiers nor legionaries. It'd probably take some scanning of Workshop to find a full version and possibly extract the files relevant to playermodels (or just the ones missing from the pack I linked) to be uploaded in a single content addon, I guess.

  15. The remainder of the models go under 'Parabellum' http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=387590785

The model icons appear purple/black but when spawned in they aren't

  16. Oh, cool. But reason I say to extract and upload a separate pack is because these community contents often have useless props that can be simply downloaded separately.

  17. Oh yeah, I was just pointing out that the NCR models and Legion models are in those packs

  18. Thanks guys, it was horrifying having to search everywhere. Almost all of the packs have useless props and shit, this saved me some space on my PC.

  19. You could avoid the trouble of looking through these packs and extracting only the necessary files by using those old NCR and Legion models, but tbh they're too nasty.

  20. Nasty in what way?
