A State of Linux Compatibility?

Discussion in 'Discussion' started by Moresti, May 22, 2013.

  1. Good Evening Everyone!

I have just purchased the Legacy HL2RP gamemode and I tried running it on my linux server box only to find out that everything pretty much crashed and burned.

So my question to you guys is, "Is there going to be Linux Compatibility for Clockwork, and if not are we entitled to a refund."

It is very misleading that there is no information before the final purchase about Linux Incompatibility, however this doesn't mean I am necessarily pissed about it either. Obviously this mod is in development still. I would just like to know, as the customer, if this has any ETA on it in the next coming weeks or months.

    Thanks!

  2. It is being worked on.

I myself do not have an exact date.

  3. So, at this current moment there are no work arounds or other types of suggestible ways to get the lua files detected?

It looks like all it is is files not being found, but then again I am just shooting a blank guessing here.

    Thanks for the speedy reply!

  4. It's the dll files that are the problem. And it's best to just ask your host to switch you over to a Windows machine.

  5. Currently that is not an option.

I am the sole host of the machine that I am using. The linux box I am running hosts more than a gmod server.

Unless WINE is an option... Been working on that for the last two hours with a bunch of annoyances.

EDIT: Gave up on WINE. It's not really usable in the current state.

  6. It's high on kuro's list :)

    It's coming, my friend.

  7. I hope so!

I'm extremely reluctant to switch from my Linux server, and I'm sure there are a ton of people who would looooooooooove it when the compatibility is finally there.

Again though, no knocks on the programmers.

You guys work your asses off I'm sure.

I know a past Clockwork contributor did some work about it, but god knows when it's coming. Might be in the next update, might be when Clockwork is fully released. God knows.
