All static'ed props= gone? Need help!

Discussion in 'Discussion' started by Blue Wolf, Sep 23, 2014.

  1. Title says it all. I was playing around with the Data Save interval and now all the props are gone. Any suggestions/advice?
Will I be able to get them back? Or do I have to start from scratch?

    Did you change maps?

If not, I guess you'll have to start over, since they are stored in files, with their positions. If it corrupts, or deletes itself somehow, you're SOL.

  3. No I didn't change maps.
However, I'm lead to convince that the Data Save Interval on its own wasn't the cause.
Something went wrong with the SQL.
Additional info: I set data interval to 0 to see.
I heard all prop data was stored in the SQL, and something occurred within it.
    Any prognosis?

Static props aren't saved in the MySQL.

  5. Okay, I got it now. I think I know my problem. The data for the props are somehow gone. Any clue how?

The files for determining what prop is where, can easily corrupt. I'm not sure how, though, could be several things. My guess is one of the props -may- have glitched through the map, but then again, I'm not sure.

Last I heard, props falling out of the map have mainly been the cause of a server restarting, and restarting again.

  7. Did you change maps.

    The data for static props is in;
    "garrysmod/settings/clockwork/schemas/cwhl2rp/plugins/props/mapname.cw"

It's sad that I know that path by heart.

Make sure your file isn't corrupted, replaced, deleted, etc.

Also if you mess with the data saving interval and place a prop, static it, and restart right away, it might not save. The data save interval is in seconds, so if I static a prop, and my data save interval is set to 500, I have to wait 500 seconds before that data saves.

Next time don't mess with options you don't understand. Asking on the forums on "What does this mean and what does it do?" Doesn't hurt anybody. That's what C16 is here for. (Support Desk)

    Please revise your post.

  9. Thanks for the correct Leon, I did read over it, although I was double checking, as I've had things like it happen before. (Someone says they didn't do something after people ask, they ask again, and they realize they did do it.)
