Look man, this doesn't make sense. It's spaghetti and don't get me wrong--I love spaghetti--but this is weak, it's flimsy, it breaks under pressure and then you went and dribbled sauce all over the dish. You want to do something else and break the mold? Fine, I applaud you. But this isn't breaking the mold, this isn't innovation, it isn't even a spicy dish. The result is a different framework the joint the same way they would've before, which is pretty damn useless if you ask me.

That isn't even to point out just how poorly these two universes go together.

 

I don't think it said anywhere in here that it was a combination of the lore here, plus HL2.

 

Keep that in mind folks. A lot of people on this thread have just been saying "This is a good concept, but you're executing it very poorly", and not providing any way as to how we could possibly fix it. Don't get me wrong, a few people are adding suggestions, and I will heavily take them into consideration, but please don't go babbling about how we had a poor execution of the lore, and not add anything to the thread.

do something cool, interesting like terminator, where it's skynet vs. humanity or fuck it, do a homefront RP.

I don't see how this "suggestion" helps at all to improve the server/lore/whatever in any way, and I'm just seeing this as a "it's shit delete it" post.

 

Unlike a large majority of this thread, I think this concept is dull and will never make it in a very harsh community like this one. But I'd be delighted that you prove me wrong and show how you can wright some amazing lore for this subject. (without taking from all the a-history man in high castle, free american empire mumbojumbo.)

 

I am yet to watch "Man In The High Castle" yet, so really anything story-wise related to that will most likely be purely coincidental. I plan on working on the server lore in my free time the next week or two, developing each individual decade (1938-2044(present day)), alongside X. Again, if anyone has suggestions (i.e. battles, scientific developments/accomplishments, social norms, etc.), feel free to add them on the thread! I will try my best to check up on the thread every day.

 

You're going to have to do a lot if wheeling and spinning to try and convince us that America, one of the most righteous, proudest nations (at that time), became a total facist regime. I just... I see no feasible way.

This is what alternate history is for.

I'm going through some RL aggro currently, but I'm working with tophat and Mr.X on the lore and how to make it sound more reasonable to other players.

 

This is why Alternate History novels tend to leave a lot of shit to the imagination, that's what I'm doing.

I'd appreciate that, I have atleast 10 players however. So My community could survive, it's only a test though at the time being.

 

I think an ambitious server has to be upheld by strong lore to survive. I think the "spaghetti" argument made earlier is a strange one, but sadly it applies. I'd recommend revising the lore.

 

Currently, we are re-working the lore. As far as I know, I'm done with my part of the lore, and now I'm waiting on the remaining parts from the other writers so we can finalize everything. Also, we have been collaborating and sharing everything so nothing should contradict each other.

Here is a thing I wrote that doesn't necessarily relate to the lore, but it relates to the server:
A news article from an online U.I.S.A. approved media outlet, "The Patriot News"
"Mattis is the birthplace of a famous pop singer, "Betty R. Jimson". Born in the Mattis capital, "Munich", this pure-white American blood sweetheart of a gal sings proudly about how great patriotism is, about the great and merciful U.I.S.A., and how nice it is to serve the "big man". Superiors love her, Inferiors, well... who cares what they think, right? On Febuary 14th, our lovely Betty will be beginning her yearly world tour to the best spots in this lovely U.I.S.A. world!
