HL2RP Apollo Roleplay

Introduction​

Apollo Roleplay is a new, private community hosting a Half-Life 2 roleplay server. We are a group of individuals attempting to get the absolute most of serious roleplay. The server will have a password placed over it, and we plan to to keep it that way. This will be our way of sorting the better, experienced roleplayers from the trolls. To enter, simply contact a member or owner of the group, and ask for the password. If you have any friends you would wish to invite, feel free to do so.

Our goal is to create a group of excellent roleplayers that can play on the server and have an enjoyable time. We expect good behavior, and good roleplay.

Setting​

Frigid air, and icy winds flow through the air of the Russian valleys. Snow would be melting, seeping into the arid ground. The frozen rivers are now flowing, and the breathtaking waterfalls spew water down the mountains with a roar, the thunderous booms echoing throughout the canyon. Wildlife would be sprouting again, with various animals running rampant over the rocky river banks. Winter is coming to a complete end, and spring is just around the corner.

The Ineu Mountains of Russia are blossoming -- yet there is nobody here to grasp the beauty.

In 2012, a large, totalitarian force known as the Universal Union traveled to Earth -- taking complete control in seven hours. The Universal Union, or the Combine, configured multiple cities scattered across the world. The landscape around each city is looking more dull, and more bleak with each coming day. The larger bodies of water are being drained, canals are being emptied, and national forests are being depleted -- all at slow rates. Yet the world continues to rotate, and the sun rises and sets each day. The year is now 2021. This is where the adventure begins.

Survivors​

Thousands of people lived together in different cities -- yet some were displeased with the life given to them by the Combine. Some resisted. Violence struck through the urban centers, but were quickly extinguished. Others noticed a way to escape, so they did. As best they can, these hopeful survivors are living off the land.

Apollo will mainly focus on the survivors. We will not have Overwatch/Civil Protection playing at the same time. This will ensure interaction between the survivors, and will increase the probability of good roleplay -- this has been our dream from the beginning.

I don't get the joke, but if you're literally talking John Madden as in the NFL coach, I'm afraid not.

That was pretty great, not gonna lie.

 

Practically, yes. It literally stops the chance of a terrible roleplayer from joining.

 

It would require an administrator to whitelist a user, and with a private server, I haven't found the need for a large staff team. With various different timezones, it could be an entire day for me to get home and whitelist him or her. My idea for the password is for users to share it between others, and with their friends who might enjoy the server. And for people on the server, they could get a message from a newcomer, and they can give the password so they're allowed to play.

But hey, if it doesn't work out, then it can be changed.

 

That's actually the entire point of Apollo at the moment.
