Greetings C16 members! I have recently relaunched my phase four server and we are looking for strong players that enjoy having fun. In this edition we are being more relaxed in aspects of the phase four roleplay. Roleplay will be required in situations but not all such as big firefights and s2k situations like that.
As for the canon, it will be fully revealed in game but here is an ooc explanation of what goes on.

The players in this edition of phase four are placed in a desert/abandoned area of the earth, it seems to be an old military base. Characters don't have a solid recollection of how they arrived here but something inside comforts them of their strange arrival. There are multiple "flying orbs" as they are called that often interact with players, the orbs will often try to convince players to do their bidding. The orbs are often referred to as the experiment administrators, these administrators jobs are to test humans. Testing them in ways of trust, faithfulness, efficiency, and human interactions with others. Humans may receive simple requests as delivering messages to other humans for the administrators or things drastic such as murdering other humans.

A little insight as to who the experiment administrators are... They will be handpicked roleplayers on the servers or even server admins. They will each be different colored orbs and will have different personalities, for example my orb is black and I tend to gravitate towards evil players to do my deeds but some orbs may be trying to help the humans and get positive results.

Everything is on the fastdl so feel free to join and if you get on and tell an admin your from C16 that would be awesome as we may do starting packages for new players. We are currently looking for staff so if you would be interested in a position feel free to join and we will observe your skills and you could possibly be offered a position if we like what is seen.

I would love to see some people who take P4 seriously as well, most of the servers out there require no roleplay its just a giant death-match.

 

Phase four isnt about roleplay anyways ._.

 

Well, you ARE roleplaying in a certain lawless enviroment, giving a certain apocalyptic setting.

I like the fact that it allows the players to do whatever they want and they develop their own norms and values within the group.

Some players choose to group up and become so powerfull that they gain the ability to run the city, making laws for less wealthier and less powerfull people.
Untill another group comes by and obliterates them.


Phasefour is both light-RP and serious-RP, it allows the player to choose, do I go for weaponry and money or should I concentrate on developing my character and find a place between the population as a normal person.

This, is what makes PhaseFour amazing.


But many, many servers failed to do this as they all focused on weaponry and money, instead I would love to see a server focus on the other part. And that is what I am doing with my server.


By seeing this thread, I regain hope for this gamemode.

I wish you great of luck with your server. I am trying to do the same but my phasefour is still a bit broken with saving data.

May I ask why you exactly feel it is a bit blank?

 

Maybe some pictures of what makes it special?

 

Most servers have an extended Canon, integrated of what the game was based on. This, was based on nothing. So I didn't take that into the judgement.

 

I mean frankly, what makes it so special? You have a canon, that's cool.. but features?

That's just a generic necessity for players these days. "Well my servers got (insert fancy plugin here) so it makes it better than yours!"
Servers shouldn't be about what plugin you payed someone to code for you it should be about the quality of the players and their abilities of role play. I would prefer 1 quality player over 100 crappy players anyday of the week. That may be perhaps what makes this server so unique.

 

Why would you not modify the schema? There is plenty of room for easy modification without needing to pay. Trust me, the majority of the Experiment veterans arnt going to care about the story. They will mostly definitely not roleplay and will have all out war. They care about getting exos, not the story behind the server.

Yes that is how a server should be but it's most likely not going to happen.

 

That's how it was when I ran my old phase four server. At least 20 players consistently on a daily basis.

I was stating that quality players won't join for some silly custom plugins, they will join for the quality of the roleplay. Which is what "good" servers should be based on.

 

Sorry to burst your bubble.

But in these kinda days, fancy plugins and fancy maps will attract Quality RP'ers. They want items/stuff to make their RP more awesome.

The assumption is that quality rp'ers already belong to a community. Conversion of players to quality rp'ers is where the struggle happens.

 

I made a community once focused on helping new players to play properly on HL2RP. I watched some pretty horrible noobs into some awesome roleplayers. If you can do this I'll give you a high five. I even made a guide to help people out:
