If you want to actually follow HL2 canon, there's no MPF, Civil Protection is the thing.

Mhm... CP is used by the citizens and resistance, not by the Metrocops or the Metropolice themselves. So it's actually more lore/canon to be calling them the "Metropolice" Force than anything else. As calling them CP or "Civil Protection" is incorrect.

Anyway, to OP. Your thread is surprisingly much better than generally a lot of the other threads So I'll congratulate you on that, perhaps you could break up the thread with some more pictures? Mostly headers, you don't want the images to be used so customising your own is appropriate

Not sure if replacing instances of 'MPF' in the post with 'CP' is necessary.
Although I do remember in HL2 that occasionally the MPF would be referred to as a Civil Protection Unit.

We'll consider that, but for a small community, a website isn't really necessary, yet.
Enjin wasn't my decision, although we do hate Enjin regardless.

I'll see about changing the formatting to something more easy on your eyes, if that's why you're talking about the formatting.

Also, we try to be a bit minimalistic when it comes to content you must download.
So, no content packs. We aren't that server that makes you download 2 GB of models.

Also, I know cityRP is boring, but it wasn't my decision to do it. Many people currently active in our community wanted it.

When looking at other threads with pictures, to me, it felt like the pictures were making the thread ugly and way too spaced out. Nonetheless, I'll see about that.

I think I like the separators I used here, though. Helps convey the message that we are minimalistic

If you're trying not to deviate from the canon... Make us shit ourselves when we hear "Citizen."

 

That's up to you, your character, and how you RP that character for the most part.

It is, and should be up to the players to properly execute fearRP.
I agree it is up to the MPF/CP unit to make you want to fearRP, but nonetheless, please fearRP.

This might make you a bit unhappy, but, MPF/CP units don't just immediately pull out the stunstick on everything.
Regardless of that, there are some other things MPF/CP units will do to punish a citizen.
Also, sometimes, to prevent dialogue from looking like voice commands, we try to use other words besides 'citizen' to refer to a citizen character.

Our server has those disabled, by the way. I don't know how to disable them, myself, however.
Hopefully that'll discourage people from having any desire to speak with just voice commands.

We don't have a content pack, and we try to make cityrp enjoyable for everyone with one-on-one character development.

 

One recommendation, don't be that kind of server who has people telling citizen players "YOU CAN'T PICK UP A GUN BECAUSE YOU'RE MALNOURISHED" while they don't say a thing about resistance which are pretty much the same thing.

About resistance, have them be actually discreet, instead of performing obvious attacks against Civil Protection.

 

There's nothing wrong with voice commands. There's something wrong with people that misuse them. It's the same argument about guns in real life.

 

I don't know why people can't just have it so Civil Protection are just called Civil Protection/CP, there's no need to have it as complicated as the OTA's name, which in-cannon are rarely seen, usually they're in the outlands and coast like that, before 2020 rebels and anti-citizens are incognito, so there's almost no reason to have the OTA as a faction in CityRP, zombies are kept out of the city with turrets, mines, and soldiers way outside the city, or just below the city and in the skirts, antlions are impossible since the Citadel also acts as a thumper, and if your city doesn't have a thumper than you just have a shit ton of them underground, same like City 17. So an event where somehow rotting corpses with crabs on their heads get their way through super-soldiers and ruthless police officers, or antlions who can only communicate through shit like sound and vibrations which are linked together who are overwhelmed by the crap ton of vibrations throughout the loud city, where they can only get in if the Citadel was set to self-destruct. So there's not much up for events or even reason to have the OTA as a faction, or to have stuff like augmentations except for ones that allow you to eat, sleep, and drink less, and also be able to wear heavy gear.

 

We aren't that kind of server. Also the idea of biolocks has been abolished here as well as the requirement of having augmentations to use certain weapons.

Again, there is practically no resistance!
When I say small rebellious activities, I'm referring to maybe attacking an isolated unit.
Doing something that won't get you enough attention to screw yourself over ICly.

 

Whoa whoa whoa. Read the OP man. I've already stated OTA are practically non-existent on our server currently.

 

In honesty I think it's both, but kurozael shouldn't just delete all the voice commands just because a few people don't want them. You can delete the vcs in the files while other people with other servers run around with vcs.

 

It's simple, really!

All server owners need to do if they down want them is...
