    Serious, Authentic, Roleplay

    Disclaimer
Hello people of cloudsixteen before I start the introduction to BGS networks I want to say I in no way mean to proclaim this is the best server and you should join purely out of choice, and that we as a community respect all fair judgement and ask to be judged purely on personal opinion and not off what people say to you.

    Introduction
Hello Cloudsixteen, over the past two years I have known many communities, run many at that. So I decided let's make a real authentic server where players from all roleplay backgrounds can come to feel at home, and welcome. I concentrate allot on the production of the server, and it's staff quality, and actively moderate my server to ensure it's %100 rather than %50. Only the best staff are picked, and roleplayers are put through there paces in order to be accepted in the certain factions, and groups within the game. I ensure that if that is not the case, I will act on it as affect of immediate. We are open to reasonable banter, and suggestions and do care allot about the equality of our members. We're relatively new, and are looking for staff, and players.

    Canon/lore
The year is 2019, and despite the combine having enough time to stop the rising anti-social and citizen threat. They have failed, they still remain in control, but the city is poverty stuck and people are dying from disease lack of food, and corruption within the central policing team. We have anti-citizen groups on the up, and trust in the Civil Protection at an all time low. The city is falling apart due to funding cuts, and a cut back in Civilised Protection teams. Meaning the entire city could fall at any point, and with the collapse in currency it means 1 Eurotoken is worthless if not in the hundreds, apartments are over crowded and the amount of job seekers has dropped by more than %80. The entire economy is literally disappearing and eventually going to seize to exists, if nothing is done about then the entire population of Earth as we know it could all eventually disappear.

    Standards
We think everyone should have a fair chance at achieving %100 on our server, but we still have a few standards, we don't go mental over grammar, but ask for the basics. We have a fair admin team, and dynamic events. We have a very strong atmospheric feeling to our gameplay and we try to include everyone and anyone in the action when and if it happens.

    Staff expectations
We take staff very seriously, and the punishments for wrong doing is at a great cost, we dedicate our self's in mature and friendly staff who have experience. We call these senior operatives, and for those who are learning the ropes "Moderators in training" and in general will be watched by a higher ranking authority. We do not allow our staff to step out of line and should they do so will result in a immediate internal investigation within the team and result of a meeting in teamspeak with management officials.

Holy...I think you only need like five ranks for MPF total and or divisions.

  3. You should give more thought into Civil Protection, perhaps you could make it a bit shorter, that way ranking up probably would not be as easy (seemingly, too many ranks would mean people wanting more promotions). Instead of making variations of the "Robocop Structure" (basically, the system that goes from [Number] to SeC or CmD which provides augmentations to what should be a simple population control force, as well as the authority over the Combine Overwatch that the "High Command" have) I strongly advice to come up with a whole new system of your own. Also, literally over 70% of the topic is the ranking structure.

On another note, especifically about the canon, I do not see why or how the Universal Union could not provide only the necessary goods such as food and shelter to a species that can be proven useful and fully assimilated into their empire as transhuman soldiers or developing technology. I do not think that the Combine have any need for a currency, pretty much everyone is assigned to an apartment and a district and they have to go get rations and back, I see that as being a "good enough" way to live. Now, citizens probably have an economy in their actions with the interdimensional empire, but I still do not see how that would affect the Combine at all so "the entire population of Earth as we know it could all eventually disappear" unless they simply just do not care about humanity at all (I am not saying that they truly care about us, I mean the benefits they could recieve from us).

Soviet Jesus Change is a good thing, at some points.

Ive seen the owner roleplay before. No Bueno. Also, ranks are WAY too complicated.

I might join and check it out. Possibly.

The unfinished BBcode is driving me nuts.

    Daemon01 I've covered in wars y'know.

what the fuck is up with the ranking system? seriously.

    dumb it down alittle.

  7. It looks like the ranking system was just copied and pasted like 3 times. It repeats a few times so this is probably a mistake.

That would be impossible as I have never seen you before, and to add to that I am incredibly busy with College so I never play, I leave it down to my staff to get on.

  9. Okay. The fact there is about 20 ranks there, probably put me off.

In order to make it easier to manage and more organised, I recommend a maximum of four/five divisions.
As well as that. Keep it to maybe four tiers of ranking and five ranks per tier. (Excluding Commanding ranks and officer ranks)

    An Example could be:

    -C17-MPF:i5-UNIFORM.12312
    -C17-MPF:i4-UNIFORM.12312
    -C17-MPF:i3-UNIFORM.12312
    -C17-MPF:i2-UNIFORM.12312
    -C17-MPF:i1-UNIFORM.12312

Then they could ascend to the next tier and give them the choice of choosing a division.

    Example being:

    -C17-CCA:i5-RAZOR.12312
    -C17-CCA:i4-RAZOR.12312
    -C17-CCA:i3-RAZOR.12312
    -C17-CCA:i2-RAZOR.12312
    -C17-CCA:i1-RAZOR.12312

Once they reach i1 they could receive training for the officer tier of their division.
    This would include:

    -C17-CCA:OfC-RAZOR.12312
    -C17-CCA:EpU-RAZOR.12312
    -C17-CCA:DvL-RAZOR.12312

DvL would be the top dog of the division, and if a CmD/SeC dies then they could succeed them as could any other DvL.

    The ranks would then go:

    -C17-CCA:CmD.12312
    -C17-CCA:SeC.12312

    You get me?
Only an example kind of ranking system. And I doubt anyone would recommend it, but I'd prefer something like that rather than the amassment of ranks you have at the moment.

I copied and pasted it a tad to many I just noticed. It's fixed now, and the server will remain down till maybe Sunday or Monday, as I am changing node on the server HL2RP is hosted on.

  11. I stood correct, it is a variation of the robocop system. *sigh*
