Bug reporting issues.

So, Clockwork is pretty badly bugged. Normal for a first version? Yeah. But the problem with this is that the lead developer isn't acknowledging that these problems are present. I understand he's worked hard but some acknowledgement that the product is near broken would be nice. Doesn't require any work.

The revotech bug reporter has these bugs listed already, and just to be sure, I reinstalled the schema on my server using the new, fixed version from yesterday and I also checked with other communities and their servers, they reported the same thing.

Bugs:

-Crosshair doesn't work. Cannot read the description of anything.
-AdminESP doesn't work at all.
-Items that are dropped by other players give the message "You don't own this item!" if you try to use them in any way.

I've checked with several other communities, like I said. They all said the same thing. The schema is installed properly. I'm not asking for a bug-free schema. I'm asking for one that doesn't have these bugs that are making RP very hard. We can't read people's physdescs. We can't find players. We can't use items dropped from other people.

I know it's Christmas. I just want to hear from Alex that he knows these bugs are existant. That way, I know they'll be fixed eventually. I've been threatened to have my key suspended by him, even though all I've been doing is asking nicely to have a working product, and not a broken one. That's all. Three bugs, that's it. I can deal with the other ones. Really. Please, can someone acknowledge these bugs? They're stopping gameplay for several servers.

 

Three is a non issue for me (as far as I'm aware) but I do notice the rest. If Alex doesn't get something working then I might work on doing some fixing.

 

Please, please, please do. Even if it's just the crosshair fix, because that's the most annoying one. I understand him refusing to fix the bugs on Christmas day, so can someone else do it?

Anyone getting Backpack bugs though? Backpacks aren't giving bonus inventory space on my server. Oh, and I can't see the Faction Picture when creating a Character. Anyone got that prob? I know it's not a bug, but yeeah. Other than that, good job on Clockwork. (No Sarcasm)

 

I'm pretty sure he has said before that there are bugs. Do you honestly think that he doesn't know the gamemode has bugs? The gamemode is pretty much still in beta. You are being extremely disrespectful to him.

Seriously? What you're doing is just ridiculous. My guess is that you're harassing him about these bugs. I'd want to remove your license too. If you don't like the gamemode then don't use it. It hasn't even been out that long and you're complaining about its issues.

 

I run my own community, I'll say my own bugs.

The third one is indeed a problem, that I don't have, and it can be fixed with a few lines of code anyway.
The only times this happens is when you drop an item you already dropped and you don't have anymore, before your inventory updates.

Anyway, the crosshair must be enabled into "system", the equivalent of aurawatch.

 

Yeah I figured those were disabled by default for some odd reason and in all honesty I prefer that they are disabled.

 

Although I was going to avoid posting a reply to this topic, I thought it would be worthwhile clarifying that yes; I'm practically getting harassed by some customers to get things fixed. I won't spare the details and I'll state that ProjectRandom has already done so. Claiming that the "Sitting in chairs breaks ESP, Crosshairs and Info text" is a game breaking bug, enough to warrent the disable of all serial keys until it's fixed.

I don't respect that treatment, I worked on Christmas Day and I've worked for the past year on this. I chose Christmas Eve as a release even though I knew there were some serious issues but I would rather release a working product (even though some of you claim it's broken) with bugs than make you wait even longer.

Yeah this is very true.

I decided to do a close inspection.

-Too clarify cross-hairs aren't broken, it just starts out as disabled (which is better in my honest opinion)

-Admin ESP works but is again disabled by default which needs to be disabled.

-Items are a non issue as well.

Everything seems to work as it should so far except for a couple of things. It's playable and it works, I don't see anything for me to fix and instead leave what there is to Alex.

 

I should clarify more sorry lol:

Crosshairs work and sometimes doesn't. I could join and it would be perfectly align and then suddenly not work. I believe I nailed down the replication but I am unsure if its fully verified.

As for AdminESP. People say it is working, this is true. But for us it gets glitchy. So I am unsure of how to deal with the issue.

I done everything a sane person would do. I did a clean install, I double checked with other communities and got the same response and finally tried finding out if its a global thing by asking Alex. So I am a bit puzzled atm xD.

 

It seems that these are caused by Chairs, it isn't fixed by re-joining. This may even be a GMod issue but I'll look into it.. Stop using chairs or vehicles.
