Soviet Jesus Change is a good thing, at some points.

    Canon:
    A New World

The year is 2016. You step off the familiar train, sniffing the air, which wreaks of a pungent stench. Exiting the trainstation, you find yourself in a dark world, one of pain and suffering.. One that you are stuck in.

Further surveying the area, you come to terms with your fate.

    But. Everything is the same.
    Except for you.

    You can change your fate.

    You, Are individual.

And you unique. Don't let that change.

General: Cataclysm Roleplay was founded on the idea that all players deserve a chance to develop, and improve their characters backstory and the players roleplay quality. We try our very best to give players something to do around the city, for citizens, garbage disposal, to running their very own shop! There is always something to do around the city, and there are hardly any limitations when it comes to In Character. I, as an owner, make sure my staff are always professional and available to new and experienced players alike. The community as a whole intends to treat all players with respect and dignity, even if you are brand new to HL2RP! We are not here to be competitors, but here to provide a place where serious roleplayers, and casual roleplayers can relax and enjoy, what our standards set as quality roleplay.

    In-Game Information:

    Factions:

Civil Enforcement Authority: Thats right. The combine, otherwise known as the most notorious faction in most servers. They are harsh and cold, and know how to get the job done. We don't train recruits In-Game, no, we have a second server (20 slots) where we host mass training events with current CEA members, as well as new CEA recruits. The map is very well optimized for the training we do, and provides a chance for all the players to get to know eachother, as well as see what one another can do. Training takes 40-60 minutes, depending on how full the training server is. If you are not proficient in training, you are taken off the CEA faction. Thus reducing the amount of failing units.

Citizens: Oh I know what you're thinking... Just another citizen faction. The basic bullshit... Nope! We try to make citizen life as fun as possible, letting players open their own shops, do work intake, or rent a fully furnished apartment! Play basketball with other players, or even take a walk in slums. The possibilities here are endless. And we guarantee you won't be a shut down. Miscount? Rations deducted, not a huge "oh shit judgment waiver rape time!" we know that those missing citizens are doing resistance roleplay, or stuck somewhere in the slums, digging through a pile of trash for that one piece you needed to make that closet. Its not about snuffing out roleplay, its about letting it grow.

Civil Workers Union: Thats right. The snobby stuck up loyalists are back... but with a twist! Now, civil workers are used as managers, managing each work intake sector in the city (i.e. Waste Management, Ration Production, Product Delivery..) Paperwork? No. Voice reports, you must actually report to a unit and make the report, no more sitting in a lonely office and spending 30 minutes to make that perfect report! You can even fire people at your own discretion. You finally get to turn that boring beat down rations packer to a working class business man! Sign me right up you say? Just write a letter to the City Administrator, and he/she will make sure to review it.

Cremator: Ah yes! The infamous cremator, usually just a boring fat piece of junk, shuffling around the city and making citizens shit themselves. Not today! You are actually ICly made by working class citizens, and sent out to "clean up" trash and.... well... *Whispers* "Anti-Citizens..." Thats right! You actually have a function! No more sitting around the city and having asthma attacks, you literally get a part in the CEA system, taking care of amputated citizens, or moving in with a team of CEA and Overwatch! You can also be summoned by citizens to clean businesses, or burn trash in warehouse 6.

Administrator: Huh... A whole sector for you to manage, and no help? Nah. You have the help of your ministers! Almost like the CWU, ministers run departments in the city, leaving you do to the "easy" stuff. Basically, you make broadcasts concerning recent events, have meeting with notorious anti-citizens, and keep a watchful eye over the city as a whole. Keeping corruption off the streets, and getting people to "Take care" of the outspoken citizen.

Vortigaunt/Enslaved Vortigaunt: Ah here we are... The Vortigaunt... known among many, friends with some. First, the enslaved vortigaunt, the god awful life of having to clean the entire Nexus, and sort files? Nah screw that. You can actually do things! With a CEA Escorting unit, you are allowed to go into the UCH, and offer your services to apartment owners, cleaning and sorting out their apartments... For money! And eventually... if you save up enough, you are free... *What! That doesn't sound like HL2 at all!* Well change is good, and it gives you something to actually work for. Next, the almighty "Free" vortigaunt, with the all powerful... Vort Beam (Thx RJ.) You are free to roam around the city and beach, and chose your path. Work with the resistance? Or be an independent soul... The choice is yours.

Overwatch Transhuman Arm: *Attention Citizens... Judgement Waiver.. is now in effect...* Oh shit! OTA! Yes.. This it, the OP faction you all know and love... but is it? Not here! Overwatch get a slight roll bonus, due to realism. But, you are not all equipped with super metagaming skywatch body heat sensors. And you are prone to failure, and bodily corruption (They ain't invincible you know.) OTA are summoned when there is a large outbreak of resistance activity, or they just need some crowd control. You can also roleplay as a Nexus guard! Coming in and out of the Nexus, not being on ground but over in the catwalks, monitoring the citizens from a close, glowing eye.

No need to include your entire canon, just have a few brief paragraphs (along with at least a couple of images and maybe a video - to make your presentation have multiple sources of media/stimulation) that describe what your community is all about. Try not to be too general and generic (e.g. 'we are a friendly community looking for friendly people'), focus on the things that you believe fundamentally make your community unique.

Remember, most people probably already assume that you follow the usual ranking structure and overall premise. They will also assume that you either use or can use the various plugins available on this website.

I am pleased that you did not advertise any use of 'TnB', as advertising another community within a community advertisement tends to both throw off people and give off an unprofessional vibe.

It is also highly recommended that you get your own domain, domains usually cost between $10-20 USD annually (getting private registration is also highly recommended).

On a less critical note, your theme song is very well done ;)

The fact that you're spamming your own thread is good enough of a reason for most people to avoid this server.

I'd avoid this server anyways, its a standard HL2RP, lol

Don't even post a community thread here, they're all dicks and elitists that will say its shitty or something as that even if it would have everything perfect. come here only for plugins and help nothing else

Daemon doesn't have any affilition with Cloud Sixteen or anything about Cloud Sixteen. He is merely a member. Don't take his word to justify C16 as a horrible place. If you feel that way, Cz, than leave.

Official canon-ish. I hope this is getting executed correctly, without Kleiner teleporting Gordon Freeman into Breen's office. (Again)

On paper, excellent, I can't rate for in-game yet.

What is the point in making this thread if we cannot regulate a judgement based on its owner and its horrific big blocks of text. How can you expect anyone to go "This server is amazing!" when it is pretty much base clockwork with a HOLY SHIT CUSTOM L33K cremator faction, which got pretty old really fast. Your forums also make me want to gouge out my eyes.

Re: Cataclysm Roleplay: Half Life Two Roleplay.

Cremator is used for PassiveRP, as the whole server isn't based on having action ALL the time, we like to keep it relaxed at points with PassiveRP, and Im not really looking for people to think this server is amazing, Im just trying to be different from other servers, and to just provide a nice RP experience for everyone.

How are the forums bad? I recently changed the font so that could be it.

The greatest irony is right clicking and adblocking that pop-up.

  20. Re: Cataclysm Roleplay: Half Life Two Roleplay. [Updated.]

Long ago, I, a nameless chump who just decided to post on the forums, decided to suggest a cool thing from the HL2 Beta to improve RP. Can you guess what it was? YOU GUESSED RIGHT, BILLY. It was the fuckin' Cremators.

And you want to know why the idea was shot down ever so quickly? Because they're relatively useless and get boring real fast. It's not as fun as it sounds, playing a lumbering blind deaf and dumb man with a flamethrower just burning trash.

Moving onto the bumping of your own community thread. I see this done on the World of Warcraft forums. Come on, man. The responses to criticisms though all make me have a bit of a lower opinion of the server and a much less willing mood to join it.

    Just my two cents.
