Introduction
Hello, fellow Cloud Sixteeners. Now, we all know enough about what a server is and such, and understand that when a community labels themselves as 'serious', that they must fulfill the promise that comes with that label, of which is the promise that you are truly a serious community. That is what we aim to do and currently do. Of course, most of you know me and although I have owned many communities from time to time, I have changed. My communities will no longer be donation grabbing communities or a non-serious disaster. I have changed, we have changed; that is a label I am willing to put on myself and my community... and it is a promise I am making. To you.

Canon
Black Mesa, 1998; the resonance cascade
It wasn't a planned, or prepared for type of situation. It was a known, possible situation. It was a scary situation for all of the Black Mesa Research Facility personnel. It was, however, apparent that something had happened when the lights flickered on and off, sparks were flying from some cords and the emergency lights had flicked on, following a blaring siren. The most feared emergency situation had set in. Many scientists panicked. Most of the research labs were instantly overtook by the swarming Xenian alien species. However, one thing kept hope alive, the fact that a relatively large force of the HECU(Hazardous Environment Combat Unit) were waiting for this kind of situation. Sadly, the grim truth behind the HECU was the fact that they were not a rescue force, rather a 'clean up' crew to rid any knowledge of the Black Mesa incident from reaching prying eyes. They were also meant to rid Black Mesa of the Xenian species as much as possible. When all hope was lost for the HECU, Plan B was put in effect, which was the destruction of Black Mesa via nuclear
missile. One man, however, was saved by a mysterious being and lived on... although in a different form. It could be considered... 'stasis'. Not forever... at least.
Earth, 1998-2003; the portal storms.
For four years, the Earth was ravaged by the Xenian alien forces who unfortunately for humanity, came through very easily via portal storms. These 'storms' would send many creatures down to Earth to make the war effort even harder to bear. Fortunately for the Xenian's, this meant that they could escape the invading alien force, known as the Combine, who had been battling for Xen. It wouldn't be very long.
Earth, 2003; the Seven Hour War.
Even worse, the Combine took advantage of the portal storms and sent millions of highly trained, heavily armored synthetic forces. They quickly ravaged Earth and took it over in the short time span of seven hours. Forced to surrender, Earth had succumb to the Combine and would know be under their force and decisions. Hundreds of cities were formed across the world and the harvesting of Earth's resources had begun. Dr. Wallace Breen, former Black Mesa administrator, had led Earth to surrender when most of Earth's military forces had been killed, was appointed Administrator of Earth and was stationed in the Citadel, which was a tall metal structure heavily fortified, in City 17; one of many Citadel's and cities in the world.
Earth, 2003-Now(2017); the occupation of the Combine
Now it is 2017. Nothing major has been done about the Combine, or now known as the 'Universal Union'. They still rule Earth with great force. The Central Union Authority has been formed and the Combine has been using humans as synthetic troops.

Factions
Central Union Authority
The Central Union authority is the new police force of sorts of the Union. They keep order and aren't necesarilly to keep you safe, but to keep the Union alive and to keep society civilized. They don a heavy uniform, with cargo pants, a standard equipment belt, a polished mask and a stunstick to start. As you advance, you will recieve light weaponry, but we do not allow units to wield an AR2, RPG, etc. Our ranking simple is quite simple and straightforward, as well as it sticks to canon.

Overwatch Transhuman Arm
The Overwatch is the synthetic, augmented force of the Combine of which is made up of humans who have been converted to an unhuman like soldier that will serve the Combine through thick and thin, regardless of their own opinion. Not that they have one anymore.

Citizens
We like to have the citizens have plenty of opportunities in factions like the Union Workers Society and such. You may own a shop or a bar. You can work on the streets, work with a drug dealer, clean up the streets, work for someone, etc. Its your choice, but it just matters on if you take that chance and opportunity.

You've made another community? You're quick to come out with them, anyways on to feedback.

The website I don't personally like, the theme of the forums is quite bland and sort of hard to follow along with. When I click on the forum button on the homepage it should send me to the forums, not force me to copy and paste a link to them. I recommend you make that button send me to the forums or atleast make that link an interactive link. The lore looks like what would exist on a standard HL2RP server excluding a different CCA name. I like how you've changed your donations and really taken in the input from your former community threads. I believe you should change up the theme, I also noticed the logo on the forums isn't the same as the one on the thread, you should update it because the logo on the forums isn't the best thing ever.

Anyways I always say good luck to everyone who attempts to run a successful community, hopefully running HL2RP works well for you, good lucky Sparky .

 

Even though you have a edgy server name, i'll be sure to join and may or may not glitch into the nex- I mean become a drug dealer.

 

Thread looks nice! Maybe spice it up with some more image headers, and definitely go through and proofread the lore and stuff, its very awkward to read.

 

Ehhh, I'm gonna wait on this, if I join and it ends up dying I won't get anything out of it, just don't give up okay? Last time you gave up was with that Metro server, the co-owner left and in an announcement made by you, you bluntly stated that the server won't probably survive.

It doesn't seem to work for your current forum theme its blue on blue. Anyways thanks for taking in the critism.

 

The purpose of the multi colored buttons in the corner is to fix that problem and customize it. There is red, blue, green, purple and turquoise. Although, the reason I had the other logo was to fix that problem, which is why I am changing it back.

Also, I have no idea why the 'Resonance Cascade' part of the canon is all spaced weird. It is normal in the editing area, but in the thread and preview it's all spaced weird. I don't know how to fix that, sorry guys.

Also, the name isn't really Edgy, @Rootie Patootie. It is a French word for 'That is life', which fits with serious roleplay. Thanks for proving my point, @Corbulogistics.

This is probably what he/she meant by 'edgy'. Also, in this case, if he/she feels that it's edgy, it's not throwing it around. I'm probably not going to respond to prevent an argument from breaking out, but I just wanted to share this with you.

 

That still doesn't mean anything near C'est La Vie or 'such is life/that is life' or relate to it.

I made the default color to green. Whoever liked the blue one, you change it back using variant color selections on the top right corner as @Sparky stated.

 

I lost the old icon anyway.

 

I might look at this later.

 

The fact you make several communities within a span of a couple months leaves me to hold little to no hope that this will get very far, coupled with the fact of the way the previous ones were run.


However;

It's notable that you've dropped the whole 'selling everyting' or selling out kind of mentality of donations, and aren't so over-the-top about it now, it's quite reserved and a bit more appealing.

The site is a mess though, unfortunately. A little bit inconsistent and ugly/hard to navigate, but using SMF is respectable, so it's sort of evened out, provided you can fix up the site a bit and fix your redirections etc.

I hope it works out, but i feel the rep from previous communities and the style of ownership of communities in the past may work against you.
There are just too many competitors that are better or more appealing alternatives, so i'll be surprised if it kicks off at some stage with a good start.


Hope it all works out, all the best etc etc. An improvement, on some levels.

Here it is again, the infamous Sparky at work once again! Joking, of course.

I've been there first hand as other communities of you've owned have risen, and fallen. Frankly, I see nothing wrong with this thread, nor' this community. You have a relatively strong community manager and a semi-good looking site. I wish you the best of luck in this little adventure, Sparky. I hope that this community is popular.


Also, worth noting I was a CO on Borealis Gaming and just by looking at the forums and this thread? A lot has improved. And I mean A LOT.
