Well we got my sticky, might be worth adding to the wiki which I'll happily do if there's a section on there.

  2. Ok, I encountered more problems. Can anyone send me the mysql tables in .sql format?

It does them on it's own, this is why you shouldn't use OA tables.

  4. Its not doing it and it has suddenly disconnected itself from my database and is refusing to reconnect...

Do a tables wipe and try again. Look at the server itself if you are using a crappy free host chances are they went down.

  6. My website is running off the same database and that still works.

Woah, woah, woah. VPS or shared hosting? Who is the provider as well?

If you're using your website MySQL instead of one provided with your Game Server open your CPanel and add "%" to Remote MySQL.

  9. Currently, on my home computer freemysql.net < dont fucking judge.
soon getting a 12 core dedicated server and will host everything on that

I've found freemysql.net to be glitchy as shit and temperamental at the best of times, which is why I decided to host everything on my own computer when developing.

Also that server won't be worth much unless you have a decent internet package to handle the players.

  11. A 150mbp/s seems to handle atleast 35 players.

  12. Using my webserver's mysql, not worked and tried a local database and it didnt work.

Website providers don't like to provide external connections and setting up on your own machine is a pain in the ass.

  14. I don't understand, it was connecting to databases fine earlier now its just refusing.

IF it's the free site then it could just be that they are too busy (surprise, surprise) otherwise I'm not too sure.

If you're using a web host then log into CPanel and go to the Remote MySQL section, just enter "%" and add that.

That allows connects from all machines. You could also enter the IP of the server to allow connections just from there.

Alex said that because not everyone knows how to use that correctly. And anyway, that way he won't be able to do database management/maintenance from his home computer.

  19. I pay for webhosting on my website, and I have allowed all external connections.

Might want to double check that, I thought the same but they had a very distinct difference to external connections than I did.
