findings look interesting but the roleplaying genre was a bit predictable

Yeah of course that is to be expected, lol. I am /somewhat/ surprised strategy is so popular. Of course, it also has to do with that roleplaying is a very wide genre that includes many games that are not of the roleplay scale of say HL2RP. One could call Skyrim a roleplaying game, but it has many elements of action and adventure mixed in that make it Skyrim, not HL2RP.

 

i mean, woulda been better if that option was replaced with something else

 

I mean, I think there's a pretty big distinction between an RPG like a Bethesda game, and a RPG in the sense of HL2RP or D&D. Obviously they're both under the name "Roleplaying Game", but there's certainly a fuzzy line to be drawn somewhere between the two.

So far this poll has been very interesting. As of today, Roleplaying (RPG) unsurprisingly has a major lead with 19 votes. Far behind in second place is Strategy with 11 votes. Tied for third place is Action with 7 votes. Also tied for third place is Action-Adventure with 7 votes. In fourth place is Adventure with 5 votes. In fifth place is MMO with 4 votes. In sixth place is Simulation with 3 votes. Tied for seventh is Trivia/Logic, MMO and Other with 1 vote.
