A little about our community...​

This community is well, upstarting. (This is a very nice way to say new, and not very popular yet.)
As far as it goes, it is mostly myself (The owner) and three members of staff, along with one or two members who drop by occasionally. (Trust me, if I could tie them down to chairs and FORCE them to play more, you think I would be typing this?) Joking aside, we are an open community who would be very appreciative of persons who would be interested in giving us a try. We welcome all who are experienced, and those who would be apt to learn. Come one come all, you can all be part of the Clutch Gaming family!

Our motto, our pledge...​

We don't have "ground-breaking technology", "amazing flashy things", or even basic plumbing (Good luck getting the Combine to put that in, buddy, we tried...). Don't get me wrong, we have a beautiful city full of amazing places to be discovered and owned by enterprising persons whom wish to do so.
My sole goal for this server was to put the power into the player's hands, to have THEM dictate their journey. I believe HL2:RP has a story to be told, to be cried over, to be cheered about, and to ponder in one's spare time. I pledge to everyone that as long as you can imagine it to be, as long as you can Roleplay it, you can do it. This is not a server built for the community, this will be a server built BY the community. (This is not me saying I won't work, just saying if you apply for a building/job and get it, you get to boss me around and tell me what boxes to unload where <3).

What we have to offer you...​

We offer a caring and friendly environment to advance and grow your RP as far as you dare to take it.
You want to be DvL? All you have to do is work for it, and show you can accomplish the job with dedication and good RP. Only other question after that is, "when can you start?". We don't B.S. with asking if you know how to preform medical procedures before you become a HELIX, we TRAIN you for that. We offer informational and instructional times to inform you and allow you to better understand any facet of the RP you should need help with. Furthermore, we know there is no shame in asking a question, as we all had to at one time or another. We also have a friendly ownership (I would like to think I am friendly ) that won't bully you for not knowing what to do next, or tell you you have to be our best friend to move up in the RP, or even to become staff. Just show you can do what you claim to want, and we can offer you anything to your hearts content! (All we ask, is a little elbow-grease.)

[size=14pt]A (short) story of the server...[/size]​

This server is based on the HL2 Universe that most understand and have come to love. Some things have been altered to suit our local canon, such as "friendly" M.P.F. units. (Friendly meaning they won't beat you as much, and low ranks MIGHT talk to you. Hearts and minds, people, one hell of a control mechanism <3.) You could say that this server takes heavily after the notion that all persons should be able to breathe for a few seconds before they get amputated, but that all depends on how pissed-off OTA are at the time. This server was inspired by the idea that HL2:RP can mold to fit some of the canon in HL2, but also add in a few separate elements to make it just that more exciting. (This includes own-able stores, private rooms, C.W.U./Loyalist areas past District Four, and more.) Want to know more? Well, the criticism will be appreciated, no matter what torrential load it may fall upon me in.
Also, although my intro may not be serious, the server's roleplay is infact quite serious. I take pride in my RP, and have done so ever since I started five years ago. However it goes, thanks for the review, I appreciate it!

 

You use forumotion which I itself is a negative. Secondly the format needs work. You want it to pop but the colors are to much. Way to much.

Just move your forums to SMF and you'll be good. And fix the formatting.

It's basically the same, generic, HL2RP.

All it is, is just masked with a 'different' kind of C16 thread.

Hate to blow my own trumpet, but this is what a good thread should look like.
Take some examples, read my guide, spruce this up. I barely even read the text just because the presentation was uninviting.

If you can't be bothered to spend hours on a thread, how can you convince us you're willing to do it for a community, too?

The server I was recently CCA on shut down, so I'll give this one a try.

 

Time to be mr. asshole. I have spent my time on many communities before, one of the sorts being Gamepro, and I'd like to point out the fact that you need to listen to criticism, which I sincerely hope you will proceed to do with this...continuing on. The thread seems very lacking to me, and to use solely BBCode is a horrible idea. Throw in some damn pictures that are neatly formatted to fit within the size limit, hell, even neatly creating banners with photoshop is fine, which is what I do already. Secondly, don't use Forumotion, proboards, or anything of the sorts, I've used them before as examples for god awful communities. Encourage passive, and make sure each individual knows how to actually roleplay, I mean, for the love of god, if you see someone who is absolutely breaking the atmosphere of the roleplay, ban them, it's serious roleplay, and everyone must contribute.

First, I would like to address the concerns about the design: I am not very knowledgeable on how to format photos, and I don't own Photoshop. Really, I know nothing of it and whenever I try I simply frustrate myself seeing as I don't get anywhere. I don't post little because I don't want to work for it. (I wrote and edited everything on my forums, and what may not have been original was altered to fit our community's canon). I may not be a master of the visual arts, but I try to make up for it in the written word and through role-play.
To address the second concern, I am still Gordon Freeman, and yes, I was on Capitol Role-play.
What you think that means is up for your debate.

Well Walter, lets just say what you know about me isn't nearly the scope of totality I had gotten to know you (both from words and action on CRP). Indeed, there were quite a few things I had done and had worked on you will never know, some involving you (amongst others I will not name). No, you arn't gullible. Perhaps misinformed, but not gullible. No, I invited people from CPR to join if they wanted to try out HL2RP, as Baker's server is a different brand. One person in particular (whom I shall not name) thought I was trying to bribe them when I offered them a MPF position because I needed units. I have never told anyone to leave any community, but I had invited people to join mine as CRP was out of the picture, and Baker's server was no longer HL2RP. I hope this has cleared some things up.
(Please note I had wanted Baker's server and mine to partner up, but some time after the claim that I was trying to steal members, we fell out of contact.)
