Combine Report Database

I've gotten the hang of PHP, HTML, and MySQL interaction. I could easily create a plugin where Combine players can log in to an MPF site, create an entry, and have it added to the database, where their superiors could read and review them on demand, should an investigation be needed. There would be a command or item in game that would bring up the site in a derma panel.

Just wanting to know how many people are interested in this kind of thing. Also, automatic donation system.

I did this ages ago for my old server just never completed it due to finding a nice design to fit the theme

Na i just gave up making a good-looking html frontend and it gathered dust after that, because something that looked like facebook wouldnt look nice on a combine console.

 

Are you ever going to release it? Or do you not have it anymore?

 

Well i never really finished the lua-side plus i lost that when the server died but i think i can dig out the html-side plus i could prob make it look nice now. Maybe we could combine it (Dat PUN 8) )

This could be done in other ways that don't require PHP or MySQL too.
I guess the whole point of that would be checking reports while off the server.

But if they're IC reports, why would you want that?

Websites are much more aesthetically pleasing than derma. Checking reports off the server is completely fine. What difference does it make if you're sitting in the Nexus or not in GMod at all? You are not understanding what metagaming is. Metagaming is using OOC information IC. None of the information is OOC.

 

Plus the way I have approached it, by logging in as a character helps the ic'ness

I'd say that's a pro instead of a con. I think we could restrict it to only be usable in-game if we really wanted to. Check the user agent and decide whether or not to show the page. I don't even think it's possible to get the URL for the site anyways.

 

If this was made, I would kiss the feet of the creators at instant.
