Hey guys n' gals of Cloud Sixteen,

I know I haven't been all that active but I thought it were necessary to post such a huge project of mine on this here community. I know how many of you go on about poor community owners whether that be for a roleplay community or a casual gaming one. That's why I'm gathering people's opinions as well as facts and figures to create a comprehensive guide on becoming an effective community owner for ANY game (however on Steam it will be listed under Garry's Mod).

These are the base sections that will be in the guide and each one will go in relative depth on different subjects:

I come to you as I want to get some opinions on whether you feel this is a good idea/project to take on and if it were published would you take care in reading it and sharing it with your friends. I also want to gather some feedback on when it is published and what sections you'd like it to feature. Short post but there's nothing much else to say. Thanks for reading and have a good one - looking forward to reading your replies.

Honestly, everyone has different ways of owning a community and placing ownership. I guess it is a good place to start.

I totally agree with you. The content and orientation of this guide is so that it gives an outline of the basics and helps new owners and old find techniques and ideology that works with their personality and their own style. This is stressed in the beginning of the guide.

As I said to you over Steam, lots of information. Hopefully it works out well.

Quite the writeup! Hopefully this becomes a gold standard part of starting up a community.

  8. I'm conflicted if I should vote this 'agree' or 'funny'.

  9. Idk. Maybe it's for new owners who don't want to fuck up or something.

I don't think its necessarily a bad thing to want to get someone's perspective on running a community, especially if they're more experienced.

It's a nice guide and all. But maybe...too long.

make sure to make the thread as unbiased as possible and have things that leaves certain things up to how the owner himself wants to do things. if you make a lot of things on the guide restrictive, not many people will pay attention to any of it
