If you had the option of creating ANY custom roleplay schema, which would you develop and why? Primarily looking to get some brainstorming and hear everyone's input.

At one point I was looking into a Mass Effect schema. There's loads of models on workshop for Mass Effect I think it'd be cool.

  4. That would be so good. So many different citizen roles, with so much opportunity for unique characters.

  5. WarHammer 40K, because any roleplay based around 40K would kidnap my free time for weeks. I love the grimdark feeling of the entire universe, and it gives off a vibe similar to HL2. I haven't seen many other servers attempt it other than those god awful DarkRP knockoffs. Only issue you might face is figuring out how to structure the server in a universe of absolute war. Easiest option would be a military roleplay based around the Imperial Guard.. -i-I-I-mean...."Astra Militarum". Alternatively you could find a way to structure it into a city roleplay based on Holy Terra.

  6. Only problem is the Gmod-RP spin would consist of admins playing busty female inquisitors who 'secretly' worship slaanesh because 'lel erp'

there would be so much lore breaking it wouldn't be funny 'yeah we have space marines alSO in this guardsman rp because uh.. jimmy donated.

  7. Yeah, for the most part it'd be fucking chaos. (all pun intended)

However I think there's a few people here who could legitimately pull off an actual decent 40k RP. One with good quality control at the very least.

  8. i think i'd make some sort of 1930s RP sort of thing, idk though

That'd be interesting. I know someone who's actually trying to make a 1942 to server but is resorting to dark to because he couldn't find a schema.

a space exploration schema, none of that gay-ass military exploration shit, nah
firefly-esque stuff, a small fleet of poor fucks who just fly around and do random shit trying to make cash

  11. It'd be great to see someone make a roleplay based off of The Division. Always wanted to do it myself, but never really found the time to do it.

sounds like a massive hassle depending on how closely based it is. Garry's mod servers already can't take massive loads but just imagine all of the stuff that would have to be made plus a map large enough to hold it and it'd have to have buildings with explorable interiors and sewers.

the real reason people want hl3 is because they want gmod 2

it's easy all you gotta do is give everyone physguns and boom you just made gmod 2 in hl3

  18. I've seen some maps where people have really pushed the limits, but honestly you could probably just get a pre-existing map and throw a layer of snow/Christmas lights over it. Overall I think it's something that'd turn out real nice in the end.
