Dan22's Maya Learning - Models

Discussion in 'Creative Media' started by Dan22, Oct 16, 2014.

  1. Hello guys, many of you may know me from being a level designer. However since moving to Unreal Engine 4 alot of the levels are now made with meshes and not BSP so this has put me in a position were I have to learn how to make models. I have since gotten Maya and 3DS Max however I will mostly be using Maya for making models since 3ds max takes ages just to make a cube and edit it.

I will show you guys stuff I produce, now don't think that i'm a pro at making models since I only started yesterday and most of the models I show will be rough and probably not textured or smoothed. This is just motivation for me to keep learning and show work that I do on the way.

Anyway, lets get cracking. Be nice I only just started xD

More to come soon as I mess around in maya.

(Note sure were to put this thread since there isn't a section for modelling)

Jesus fucking christ Dan, you can do everything, can't you?

  8. Nice work although I feel you could have used less edgeloops on the lowpoly, and put more emphasis on the normal instead

also I actually made a similar thread to this about a year ago

not trying to jack your thread, just thought we might exchange some stuff we did
