What is this?:
Delishous is the result of years of dedication towards of improvement, built on the groundwork of a simple premise: to make a durable, seamless serious roleplay community made with the express intention of planting its foot on the ground for all. Our current namesake of our upcoming project is a sleek, reliable forum made for the user: this will be the discussion medium for the many upcoming gameservers.
We seldom care about who you are or who you were: we're looking to give everybody a chance at enjoying the atmosphere on a server wherein roleplay happens at its most seamless. The most I can ask from you right now is the ten minutes to view our thread wherein we'll address frequently asked questions, information pertaining to the server and the schemas we have in development, information pertaining to donations and even more.
How will this community be funded? Are you relying on donations?:
The answer to that question is rather simple. We have enough to run this on our own without full support from the community itself,
we're not paying you to play. However, community donations are accepted and contribute to the Emergency Fund, a fund directly made so if we do run out of funds some how or some way, there will be money to keep it going until standard procedure starts up again. Of course, depending on what server you donate for, there will be features that you can get that don't give you any sort of authority, powers, or anything else that grants you further abilities game wise than another player. This means you can't donate for factions, upgrade, administration status etc.
What schemas are you going to be hosting?:
Several. The schemas that we are going to be hosting besides our Half-Life 2 Roleplay server are going to be community built, meaning there will be weekly updates on development of them and the community can give feedback on what they want and what they think is good or bad. We really enjoy having the community involved in as much stuff as we can, because it's a community and we're hoping to set it as a hub for roleplay. There some in their early concepts right now, but we want to save them for later until they are fully out of the concept stage and well written.
What's the point of being a patron?:
Patrons are dedicated members of the community who'd like to see the community continue to run and prosper. What benefits you get varies to what you donating for, whether it be the community as a whole or a specific schema you still will be marked as a patron and we appreciate every single donation that we get, because it shows us that people are enjoying our content, which is one of the most loved things. We love hearing from everyone we possibly can. One thing we can tell you as of now in regards to any donations is that you will be given the following features.
I. Forum Rank.
II. Access to private boards.
III. Teamspeak Rank + Private Channel.
IV. Pure thanks from the community.
Do you require a bunch of content to play?:
No, our servers don't require mass amounts of content to play. The only way this could happen is if the community decides to make a rather large schema going down paths that unfortunately causes this, which we are hoping everyone agrees that a gigabyte to download before even knowing if it's good isn't such a good thing for you or your storage space. If there are content packs published, we promise that they won't be this large. Ever.
So where is the content?:
Considering this community doesn't have any open servers as of now, there isn't any official or up to date content packs available. As this thread is updated and the community releases it's servers, we'll update this criteria. For now there isn't a lot to show, because it's a work in progress!
"It was like someone dusting off a counter, it was done quick and there was hardly anything left."
When the forces of the Universal Union landed on the Earth in 2004 and an unconditional surrender saved all of the survivors, humanity was not fully aware of the horrors that would be inflicted upon the species, instead believing them to be benevolent figures due to the safety provided against the loose, wild creatures of Xen. ‘Our Benefactors’, as some began to call them, would begin to extract all that could be used to accomplish their mysterious purpose, all while the civilian population was placed by the combined efforts of the Universal Union and the ‘collaborators’, led by Wallace Breen, in large prisons posing as cities.
Even though those within the cities were not exposed to the wild beasts, their life and the life of every person of importance to them was owned by the conquerors. They could be disposed of at a single whim, and they felt alienation as strange war machines were everything guarding the population, for a time. Some were relieved when the Civil Protection was established, but in reality it would turn out to be the worst chapter of their lives, as protectors would also be allowed to do as seen fit with the civilians, with no consequence to lack of molarity.
You have been transported from city to city, all of the experiences being nothing more than an unpleasant memory. Now you are headed for another urban center, City 15, and no one can tell what will happen within.
As the forums progress with content, there will be a lot more able to be read!
City 15 was formerly known as Dnepropetrovsk, located in the now-forgotten country of Ukraine. Even though it gives the impression of having very calm residential areas in the surface, City 15 is notorious for the amount of underground locations, in which those that are undesirable may lurk. You arrive in District 6, a very well-maintained area in City 15 that also happens to be one of the closest to the Citadel, the headquarters of the Universal Union in the city.

This city is populated by various species, though the dominant is humanity of course, as there is a small number of vortigaunts in comparison. Players will be able to play their characters in the factions of City 15, which have been overhauled so they all offer equal opportunities of entertainment. We thought it was important to focus on each faction, seeing as most servers tend to drift one off, particularly the citizen faction. We wanted to create an atmosphere where there was an equal balance, and made sure you could tell that this atmosphere is real and seemed as close to the idea of HL2 as possible.
These are main factions as of now, obviously more information will be released on the forums.
The Civil Protection, referred to as ‘CPs’ by citizens are the primary so-called peacekeepers of the city. Protectors perform and revolve around police-state type procedures, doing as they please while removing basic human rights in a regular society for the most part to fill out their duty of keeping steady social status. While they are officially described as individuals loyal to the Combine and their ideals, most of them are citizens who have signed up for better living conditions, or for something to live for in what's left of their lives. The Universal Union established this police force to prevent any sort of resistance to the occupation.
The majority of the war survivors were assigned to the civilian class, which became known for having close to no rights and inadequate living conditions. These people are under the constant watch of the Overwatch, the military force of the Universal Union on Earth. However, not all agree with the surrender of self respect, which is the main cause of anti-citizens. Most of the anti-citizens are in hiding from the Combine for their refusal to follow its ideals, living only to fight for freedom, though open combat is regarded as foolish, or as suicide, by most of the population.
Ironically known as the creatures of Xen, these creatures that were part of the original invasion through the portal storms caused by the Black Mesa Incident are, infact, not native to the borderworld. There are many species under such classification, but the most outstanding of them are the vortigaunts, due to their intelligence and seemingly friendly behaviour. Most of them remain stuck in the cities much like the civilian population, having become nothing more than slaves to the Universal Union.
We don't just plan to limit ourselves to one specific schema, we want give all kinds of experiences! We plan to host multiple servers using community built schemas, as we stated:
We want to have a community. However, we have to get big to do so!
This is just a simple overview after all, just showing what there is and etc. Please bare with us as more content is added to the forum, it's only been up for two days and things are still getting sorted. Give us a chance, also more information will be added to this post as time continues.
Due to an image limit, some of the headers won't have little under quote things. Sorry.
Thank you for your time completely, and we hope to see you on the forums communicating with others, and getting ready for release.
Information about IPs will be put down here upon the release of the server and etc.
