Fanfiction?

so when i was 15, i wrote a couple of half life fanfictions. they, well, they suck, pretty bad, but i kind of liked what i was going for in them. recently been getting thoughts to try write something again due to the fact i get favourites on them still and maybe i should try something else. thoughts?

is it bad i'm being genuine, though? like, i can't really write my own book here, and i kind of like fiction based on something established, even non-fiction like theories and such, so fan fiction is just kind of cool to me. also it's a great way to practice writing because you're not handing your skills to tryhards; fanfiction.net is basically tweens

like idk man, there's something cool about putting your own character or some random backgorund character into a situation that could have been, and open games like half-life or NEO scav or even state of decay which i'm playing atm has a lot to give in terms of ideas and context (well, state of decay is similar to a lot of zombie apocalypse themed games, but my point still stands)

i used to write shitty fanfictions on the minez forum when i was 12

yes, a dayz mod for minecraft (granted, shotbow made it really well)

i'm glad that site's gone because oh my god my younger self cannot be known
