What sickens me Tomo, is that I (was) a legitimate player of your server for several weeks for Mellorite Gaming as well as part of FTA and you still accuse me of trolling. You're doing exactly as I expected you to do, Tomo, as you have done with every other review posted. You attempt so desperately to discredit the reviewer to try and preserve the false rep you've gotten through lying and censoring and doing exactly as what you're trying to do with me.

You can lie as much as you want Tomo, but you know that every single thing I have stated there is true.

I'm not trying to start a flame war. I'm simply submitting my opinion to the public and the fact you personally assault me and try to call me a troll to falsely 'prove' my review as incorrect is disgusting. I'm done posting and will only post again if I feel that it is needed.

 

Half the things stated here are misconceptions, or simply not true. I don't know who you are, but I have an idea, and if you are who I believe you are, you have bias against us and always post negative reviews despite our best efforts to prove you otherwise.
Please keep in mind that we don't try to point fingers, but every time we have been 'trolled', it was by the same few people from where else, but said 'rival' community. We didn't try to create any rivalry, we didn't want a rivalry, we wanted to be different, but they themselves created this rivalry, going so far as banning both of us for crimes never done.
I don't even want to argue on this anymore. I've done it so many times, tried to defend myself against false accusations and finger pointing, but i'm just tired of it.
It makes me not want to play HL2RP, knowing that all i'm going to get, is a load of drama laid upon us by people who dislike us for no other reason than we originally split from a community we didn't approve of changes with.
I'm just tired of it.

What you currently have in your entire review, is half truths and half lies. Things are either dramatically understated or dramatically overstated.

Also, I said that because that's how I feel. Like I said, everything seems dramatically overstated to what is actually going on in the server, I'd like you to give actual proof and instances where ANY of this ACTUALLY happened.

We don't P2L, we use rolls and everything else you've based your criticism around powergaming and the like when us not even using P2L proves that half of the other things you have said are complete fallacies.

I have absolutely no idea what any of you are talking about. I joined the server for a good couple hours and never had an issue the entire time. I haven't joined again since then because the gamemode (and HL2RP in general) isn't as appealing to me as it used to be, and have since joined other servers (Stalker Roleplay, etc.) but my time spent on there was not bad at all, and it's one of the few servers that I've actually found competent roleplayers.


As a reminder, I don't post what I post on this thread because I'm 'buddy buddy' with the owners or administrators. I post what I post because I've been on this server and seen almost every aspect of it personally, and what's been posted here seems to me a bunch of lies. Maybe the server was like what you said in 'the past' (although I still highly doubt it), it surely isn't like that now. I don't *have* to include myself in this drama, but the reviews are rather sad now, and the fact that somebody made an account and spent time making an essay of a 'false' review is even worse.

 

Yes, I realize you do not and have not ever ran a P2L system. I said you ran a system that you named "P2L" that involved not being able to win resist attempts against trained hand-to-hand combatants. If I recall correctly, it was Yurek that mostly enforced this system. And once again, I hate to cause drama and I hate to cause you this stress, Yurek, but I'm only stating my opinion and since you guys keep trying to prove me wrong, I have to retaliate. I don't want to cause a headache for the mods of C16 either. If necessary, we can continue this in PMs as I've already stated my full opinion.

 

That's also completely false, as I've seen fights between two synth units and there was not a single issue. There was no decision making on who did what, it was based on rolling (if I recall correctly, pretty sure they rolled). Aside from that, there was not that much combat RP and most of the roleplay consisted of passive, which was swell.

 

While I want to believe Tomo and Yurek became gods overnight, I have a hard time believing that. I stopped playing recently, possibly a week ago when the server went down. I stopped participating in FTA's constant ActionRP (sorry, but I have to say that if you don't believe this server is full ActionRP then you haven't experienced all of FTA/Mellorite), so the system may have changed midway between Mellorite and FTA. If it is changed, then the owners actually took some advice well. If so, props to you, Tomo and Yurek.

Edit: And like I said before, real FTA isn't exactly the server you saw when you joined as a well-known member of C16. Try joining under an alt or getting a friend to join.

 

It hurts me to read this, and some of it I understand. Stating these had made me think about the way the server runs and what the rest of the Administration team do. I understand that we can mess around sometimes and be clueless to what a player actually wants at other, but understand this. We try our best to make a community and create a playerbase, but so far we have just been set back further than we were when we first started up as Mellorite.

 

Hey, props to you man, in my experience in the server you've been one of the good admins that always tries his best and knows what's best for the remainder of the community. And thank you so much for not adopting the mindset your superiors have that FTA is some perfect community that can't be criticized.

Edit: Since it's obvious that my original intentions to prevent a flame war has failed, let's just come to an agreement and drop the topic. I'd much prefer for my review to be pegged as legitimate rather than a troll's, which is all I'm trying to accomplish by continuing to post. Sorry for those of you I've caused stress, I could have handled this better. :-\

 

I never said our community was perfect and couldn't be criticized, but damn it to all hell if I'm going to just sit here and let you throw around false accusations about P2L stuff and the like, because that is how I feel.

Not once have I ever heard anyone else but schechy and flaming (The confirmed trolls) say anything like that.

Edit - Also, whoever it is that you are. You haven't been on the server within most likely around the last two or so months, we haven't had the server up much the past month for that to actually happen. But what I can assure you is that the server is no longer ANYTHING like it was two months ago.

The past month I have dedicated quite a lot of my time to try and get several things sorted, along with making sure anything that you are saying doesn't even happen once, I put a lot of work into everything and half the time with what I now understand and feel is an out-dated review, it just makes me feel like not bothering. But I continue because I want to make a community that people can enjoy and somewhere that people can call home, regardless of their affiliation with any of the admins or what not.

I welcome everyone, no matter who they are.

 

I think the last time someone shot at someone else, wasn't even a fire fight. We haven't had any action in over a month now, maybe 2. Days Gone By doesn't give much opportunity for action, it's mostly passive, but please, join and prove us wrong.

 

You have a very very dark map for this server. I can't even see straight or remember where I am.

(Also don't have Episode 2 installed yet, so parts of the map are missing and errors.)

BDL, nobody got banned for voicing their opinion.

People get banned for trolling, and blatantly spamming here. This is the third time, I think.

 

Yeah, I understand that the map is very very dark. I've been trying to get it to give the user a flashlight upon entering so that they can see much easier, the map while dark provides everything we need for days gone by and not many other maps do. It's a good size for what we need along with the correct amount of areas where our factions can stay.

However, currently I am in the process of creating a map for the server, I'm not sure when it will be done as I've been creating it for quite a while now, trying to put as much effort as I can into making it look nice as well as optimised.

I'd suggest people get the basic source games, including all of the HL2 series. It's not just something that is generally needed for the majority of anything within garrysmod, but it's also necessary for pretty much the majority of maps.

 

Adding the code to where the player spawns with a selected item is pretty self explanatory, If I am not mistaken, I might take a look at the code later to be sure.

 

I can teach you how to increase the brightness of the map if you like. Can't be done on anything but clockwork, cause no other gamemode has the commands.

 

Nah, I know how to do that with either the clockwork settings thing and I've also placed down a fog controller in the gmod entities, but because the map uses a crappy farZ clipping distance, it looks terrible. Yes it looks brighter and all that fun stuff, but it shows the clipping distance and things pop in awkwardly.

However, if you have other suggestions I'm open for them. Thanks.

 

How dark is your monitor? I can see the map easily.

Also EP2... why? why don't you have that brilliant game installed?
