2185 CE​

Fehl Prime is attacked by the Collectors after a Cerberus agent hoping to discover their intentions signals them. Most of Delta Squad is lost during the battle for the colony, but they succeed in disabling the Collector ship. Delta Squad member James Vega chooses to rescue the asari Treeya, who possessed vital intel on the Collectors, leaving the colonists to die aboard the Collector ship when it crashes on the planet's surface.

Commander Shepard is revived and tasked by the Illusive Man to investigate the mysterious disappearances of entire human colonies in the Terminus Systems. Investigation of the attacked colony of Freedom's Progress reveals the enigmatic Collectors from beyond the Omega 4 Relay to be responsible for the disappearances. After assembling a capable team, Commander Shepard uses a captured Reaper IFF to safely traverse the relay and infiltrate the Collector base. Shepard succeeds in eliminating the Collector threat, saving humanity throughout the galaxy from certain destruction.

February 10: A dangerously close flyby of the comet CR1331 Kingu devastates the hanar colony of Belan.

March 28: A coalition of the corporations Binary Helix, Sonax Industries, and Guanghui Solutions invades the krogan and vorcha-populated world of Garvug.

April 28: The Vallum Blast annihilates much of the capital city of the turian colony of Taetrus. In retaliation, Taetrian colonial and Turian Hierarchy troops declare war on the separatist group responsible for the attack.

August 11: The Citadel Council makes first contact with a race of virtual aliens who offer advanced technology in exchange for help maintaining the supercomputers that run their civilization.

November 12: An unknown and recent, though rather expansive scientific 'Research' company have retrofitted a spaceship with new technology and are recruiting crew from all over the galaxy to venture into creating new habitable worlds.

Located in time on November 13th within the year 2185 CE, you find yourself on a ship known as the USS Derinian; an exploration and science craft sent off to charter and explore some of the lesser explored planets within the systems. Your first venture is to Aeia, a garden-world discovered by Captain Ronald Taylor in the years of 2175 CE. Information is very scarce, simply stating that the planet had not been settled on due to its 'toxic' food. The mission as set out; is to land on the planet and take samples of anything that can be found and collected, with some research your team may find a clue to making the planet more hospitable as well as providing a catalogue on what can and cannot be consumed on Aeia.

The ship has a crew of a hundred or so of mostly; Humans, Salarians, Quarians, Asari and a few Krogan and Turians as 'Muscle' support; should the crew need it. Upon getting on the planet, you find yourself struck with an overbearing odour; fungi, fruits and other plant-life are letting off strange spores into the atmosphere. How will the crew act on Aeia, will they manage to catalogue the harsh environment of Aeia; or will they get stranded or even worse?​

very interesting indeed
i like the idea of having the crew stationed on an unexplored planet because that opens up a whole new realm of opportunities for alien contact and other disasters.

if done correctly, i could see myself and plenty of others having an enjoyable experience on this server

Dear Candidate

Your position upon the ship has been secured, so we have secured within this documentation the events that will hopefully transpire due to your enlistment. Presuming you do your part for Isoptera Inc then we will continue to do our part for you, as part of our ship you will be paid quite a sum for discretion in your work; outside contact will be limited and we will be testing you to your limits. As you may not know, Isoptera Inc will soon be of great importance within these sectors; I hope you do not let us down.

As part of your job, you will be securing the future of not only your lives but the lives of many others and our company. With that in mind, here is your first secured mission aboard the USS Derinian. -

You are to work with your fellow crew, whether you are to protect them or help them in their daily tasks. We are sending you all out to Aeia as your first venture of importance. You are to take what may be a hospitable land and turn it into something that may be colonised and sold off to the highest bidding race. We have reports of unusual plant-life and wild-life, we would like catalogued samples of anything and everything you find; they will be of great importance to us.

Should information be leaked, you will not get a severance paycheck and your family will not be compensated for your death. We are sorry for these inconveniences, but discretion is key.

spinning the whole mass effect deal in a new open ended direction is much better than what has been done traditionally in the past

Hey everyone, just thought I'd give an update on the server and a new change to the application process. It's been up for three weeks now. Had plenty of good feedback from players and we're hoping to expand our horizons with new players; concerning those that may not be able to fullfill/create full-fledged applications.

We have two systems for characters on the server, an area for people who do not need to apply for their character and an area for applications for those more advanced characters with specialised training and special equipment.
