Won't be called Garry's Mod 2, but it's happening.

 

Can't really see much point to be honest, unless it's going to be running on Source 2 engine if that ever gets released. Otherwise it'll just be another way to make quick money off of something that could just be done as an update to Gmod as it is I guess.

 

Point: it's a game.
Who cares: all the people who have taken their time to come here and comment on this thread.
Would it flop: who knows, it isn't even available for a sneak peek.

What makes you think that? Picture a GMod that runs faster, looks better, has near unlimited scale (https://i.imgur.com/vFKCUG3.png yeah thats a 1:1 scale of Paris) in the size of its maps, and should hopefully have better AI. I'm so fucking hyped for it.

 

then picture all those addons which have been abandonded by the developers but work. it'd probably mean rewriting alot of stuff

 

Just a matter of porting shit over, people do that in GMod all the time.

However, I don't yet know exactly how difficult it would be, especially since it seems like I'm gonna have to change up my coding style to account for garry wanting GLua to be more like C.

 

I'm fine with this, more often than not I find myself questioning why my loop isn't working properly on a table.

As for && and ||, that's used in almost every language so having it adopted in to gmod would be nice, except it'd break everything (if the regular operators aren't kept, e.g. "and," "or," etc.).

Yeah, that's what I pictured during the GMod 13 release. Let's just say it hasn't met my expectations.

 

GMod 13 still ran on the same (shitty) engine, and it wasn't that huge a change from 12. This is planned to run on Source 2, so you can imagine how large of a change it's going to be. Pretty sure only DOTA 2 is running on Source 2 atm, so this is very hype for me. Well worth the period its going to have at start where there isn't much community content.

 

It's two months old...
I guess that's enough for things to become obsolete, eh?

Fingers crossed for Boxes sent to me. I love boxes.

 

I know it's horrible to think about, but there are mature people who send that shit on workshop. How about 90+ IQ to post on workshop?
