  1. Garry's Mod Gamemode

    The First MMORPG?

    Dear, GMod Gamers.
My name is Devin, I'm new to the world of programming, learning Garry's Mod LUA, and I've learned other simple languages, such as HTML and CSS. Otherwise, I'm that, "Noob Coder."

Recently, my friend and myself had this idea, how about an MMORPG for Garry's Mod?

    What would it include? ...

+NPC Complete with cycling animation and audible voice, with voice syncing.
+Custom Weapon System with custom traits, such as the weight, weariness, and so forth.
+Custom Money System, rather then taking this off of DarkRP, I'd create a custom system.
+Set Economy with several features to support new players.
+VIP System that can prove to be profitable for the host(s) and cheap for the donator(s).
    +Custom Models.
+Custom Maps with several added features, like NPCs that act as pedestrians, "police", and thugs.
+Spawn Area with Server Portals, Forum Portals, and Advertisements.
+Custom Map/Radar System that can show you how to navigate, find people, and find buildings.
+Hunger, Thirst, and Stamina System. (Also Health & Armor)
+Loot from NPC Monsters (The Loot with Rotate)
    +HDR Ecstatic
+Realistic Mod that will Simulate combat. (Modified SharpEyE)
-Concommands that can increase/decrease FOV, or the "Kill" command.
+Enhanced Security System, banning/kicking mingebags and hackers without admins needed.
    +Thirdperson system.
    +Raiding System.
+Government System. (Laws, Taxes, Economy Control, Weapon Distribution to "Police")
+Compressed Content Pack, uploaded directly to Steam Workshop, GitHub, SVN Revision, & .RAR Archive.

  2. Ok so is this being made with Clockwork or what. Genrally custom scripts are presented at Facepunch :V

  3. Yes, but Facepunch has changed a lot. It isn't what it was, and is mostly just for their servers, rather then all of Garry's Mod like it used to, plus I like it here. It's nice. But umm, no this'll be on the skeleton framework. Eventually yes, I do want to make a gamemode using Cloud Sixteen's clockwork, because of it's advanced scripts, but I do not obtain the knowledge to do so.

  4. I'm sorry, I was thinking of LifePunch (Just Figured out why I was wondering what happened to the facepunch forum) LOL

    Yeah anyways, thanks.

  5. There's actually someone working on an RPG script, with abilities and animations and stuff.

He posted it on facepunch, and even had a video.

  6. That is nothing compared to what my friends and I are thinking, imagine people walking around, like in Skyrim. Talking, maybe commiting a crime, running from "Police" and such, that would happen as well. There would be things, no gamemode, could even IMAGINE to beat.

Seems a bit optimistic if you've only just begun to learn Lua...

  8. Agreed. This will be no easy task. Any one can come up with ideas. People do it all the time, because that's the easy part that doesn't take too much effort. But you need to ask yourself: Am I really able to do all of this?

Sorry, but because you said that you're new to Lua, I think you're in way over your head on this one. Programmers don't start out big. Just like the way you don't just graduate high school and expect to be the CEO of a major company. You need to go to college and get those degrees, man. In order to "get those degrees", you need to start off small in Lua. You can't just jump into the big stuff.
