So I saw that whole discussion about guns in this thread, but it's all off topic so I decided a nice hobby thread would be cool.

This is not a politics thread, go create one if you want. This is a big, happy gun circlejerk and all freedom loving people of the earth are invited.



I'm building an AR over the next year, and getting an M1 Garand from CMP for Christmas.

 

I've shot a fair variety of firearms.

-Beretta Cx4 Storm
-Glock 18
-Sig Sauer P226
-Double Barrel shotgun, not sure what company
-Some sort of lever-action rifle, wasn't a .22 though, had some kick.
-Again, can't quite remember, some sort of revolver by Colt
-Mosin Nagant
-AK-47
-AR-15

Out of all of them the AR-15 was my favorite, it felt really good. Only downside is that it's obviously high maintenance compared to something like the AK

 

How was that? Never had the pleasure, looks so neat

 

Can't quite remember, was years ago. I was down in Vegas and it was my first time shooting. So I assume it's very light and a beginner's gun.

 

Such a simple and sexy weapon

 

I need to head back to my home-state sometime. My uncle's cousin does firearms for his hobby. He was gonna take me to a Machine-Gun festival thingy sometime, never quite got around to doing it though.

 

I've never own a single firearm in my life; but I plan onto soon.

I've held a firearm before although; my uncle's pistol which was probably like a glock or some shit.

I'll probably on buy one firearm for the purpose of self-defense so a hand-gun or some shit; which I'm debating on purchasing. I thought about a Colt M1911, but I assumed it's rather more of a display piece then something you'd rather use in self-defense when there is plenty of other guns. But what the hell; Colt M1911 looks sexy.

Any suggestions for a first-time gun owner on what handgun I should get?

 

Fired a .22 rifle, sitting down, stationary bipod shit.

Also fired some gauge shotgun, idk what, hit 3 outta 5 pigeons first time shooting.

Really want to fire some more powerful guns. Like an m60. Fire that thing, I bet it'd have no kick.

I went to a hunting/outdior convention.
They just made you watch a safety video, and let you go ballistic. Not my fault the only rifles they had were like $69 .22 bolt actions the size of a flute.

Holy fuck AA-12s.

 

I've shot a FN Five-Seven and a Steyr Scout, the pistol went fine but I was holding the scout incorrectly and got my finger messed up pretty nasty. Almost dislocated it.
Worst thing about the entire thing was that the guns jammed really quickly, it was like they weren't even taken care of there.

 

Glock 17 T FX - Because I don't plan on killing people, or really want to, even though I think I can handle it...
