Oookay... I think you shouldn't allow actor names for one good reason; MAX HUGGING PAYNE.

I'm not going to be allowing really badass and kill-all video game characters, but there will be some exceptions to that. So no Max Paynes running around and bashing heads in.

 

Drawing attention to celebrity names will only make more people apply. Leave auth applications nondescript and general, accept celeb apps if they happen and are well enough.

Just got a couple of criticisms that might help you out in the near future should you ever make a second thread.

While it's good you're mentioning your real name to enable us to feel a deeper sense of intimacy with you as an owner, I wouldn't include such irrelevant information next time.
Also, I don't know about any of you guys, but since when did any of us know you as Tenpenny?

Don't ever make a thread and not talk about in game details. What are we to expect when we join your server?
Plus points for deliberately not going into the whole "this is how our MPF work" part of the thread; though you won't earn additional kudos for making a point of it.

Custom map? Cool as fuck. +1.
Don't compare yourselves to any other server, especially if you typify the community you're trying to attract as members of "regular bone-dry HL2RP servers where everything is bad and you should feel bad".
(The RP community in general, I mean.)

These policies aren't really as unique as much as they are sort of redundant. Your first point is okay I guess, allowing people to just transfer their characters from universe to universe cuts out the middle man of applications and definitely appeals to a lot of people with developed characters, but your second and third are completely bizarre. IC is IC, if someone wants to RP as Paris Hilton, as long as they stick to the fuckin' lore, allow them to and don't make a point out of it thinking it will attract people,

Your third point about having a "no bullshit ban policy" is also really substandard. You should have a decent ban policy anyways. You're not going to get anyone to go "what a great RP community" if having a decent guideline for banning (and I hate this terminology with a passion) "minges" is a main 'unique' thing rather than something you should have anyways.

You're right, including your real name is completely irrelevant to the topic, cheers for reinforcing my point there.

I'm fairly certain any RP server, let alone any HL2RP community, would have decent ban policies and gives opportunities for you to make your own character how you want to.

Then those were bad servers with bad admins and you should feel bad for thinking this point is at all relevant.

That's funny because you didn't put any other policies other than those three really bland and redundant ones. So, which were your "later on policies"?
More importantly, which ones were unique?

I tried to be fairly nice and constructive with this thread, but if you want me to be completely honest, your thread is nothing but a wall of text with no information about how the Roleplay works or images or any sort of information for that matter, that would offer me any incentive to join. Your negative attitude toward criticism that wasn't at all intimidating (or at least, that wasn't the intention, but then again if you find people on the internet intimidating then you've got some real soul searching to do.) is very suggestive of you as a community owner, and your presentation skills are lacking so much that you might as well have just made a thread saying "join my server it's a good HL2RP like no other." and be done with it.

I'm not going to step a foot on this community until you, @ADudeWithAHat, can step up your game as an owner. You're making yourself look like a fool. You're taking constructive criticism and throwing it down the trash, claiming it's irrelevant and such. Not only are you giving yourself a bad name, you're giving your community a bad name.

IMO, having Celebrity names is just going to cause way too much arguing and such later on. It's best to remove it.

I'd also like to remind you, we aren't a Minecraft community. Replace the term 'Trolling' with 'Shitposting' when reporting, thanks.

How was I being an asshole by giving constructive criticism? I gave you advice on being a community owner, which I'm very certain I have a lot more experience with than you probably do. I wasn't bashing you, or "your shit" in my original reply at all, you simply took it as an insult to you because it wasn't all sunshine and smiles and decided to spit your dummy out like a child.

The simple fact you interpret the (very valid.) points I made about how laughably horrible you presented a subpar community as bashing you as an individual really shows how deluded you are.
