    I am almost certain but sure that this is a serious case of formus changerus. It also explains his constantly changing opinion on the importance of grammar:
    "This summer" he will try to discover his true form. He found out about his true form when it started to take control of his body. Apparently his true form has a decent sense of grammar and was the one that replied.
