    Launch Date: November 21st!

The air smells burnt, and the ashes are still falling.

You arrive in City 18, a city in which is ruined by years of rebellion. Half of the city has been blocked, due to catastrophic circumstances. City 18 has been named one of the most dangerous cities to occupy in, due to the many secrets that lie within. City 18 contains some of the most important members of the Universal Union and one of the most well equipped battalions out there. The City 18 Battalion has you by the tail & anything you do is noted and will be saved for later. The living space is small, but in high numbers. Many abandoned shops remain in the plaza. The city uses a new, synthesized voice for announcements and broadcasting. The battle of City 18 is what keeps us all together.
    Forever.

    Lore

Outskirts of Tokyo, Japan. November 21st, 2026.

City 18 was named one of the largest, most advanced cities in the world. Bustling markets, advertisements everywhere for human engineering, enhanced weaponry, Artificial Intelligence, and much more. Life in City 18 was a rather easy life, as rebellion was minimal, and loyalty was high. This was the City everyone dreamed of. The reason for this, was the fact that City 18 was home to the most ruthless battalion of any City out there. Units of the Battalion contained enhanced gear, and had stronger augmentations than any other city. The city was classified as the Universal Unions most successful city, containing the best of the best, and the highest of the high. The city contains one of the best economies out there, and one of the best living spaces out there.

    Life was good.

Years gone by... Obviously, things changed. The economy dropped, businesses closed down, and rebellion grew higher. An increased amount of detainees can be seen by the Cities management. Something was going on. The business sector was home to rebellion groups, and "hit-men". After about 2 years of having a "No-Death" record, that changed. The first death was recorded after 2 years. A citizen in a standard jumpsuit was found, bullet to the head, gun next to his hand. He was wanted for the assault of a City officer. Soon after, more and more citizens were recorded dead.

What could be the reason for this? Was it greed? Hate? Trust Issues? No.... It was something bigger.

City officials have began to crack down on rebellion groups, and have began to sweep the business sector daily. Day after day, the battalion always found something new. Weapon imports, gear, illegal drugs, food, and much more. Smuggling has always been a problem for the city, but it has never been this bad. The business sector was classified as, "District Six". Anyone inside the district was subject to random searches, and detainment for whatever the battalion saw fit. More and more rebellious acts are recorded, the city beginning to plummet. The economy began to drop ever since the business sector was classified as a danger, and production of A.I, Human Engineering Products, Advanced technology & more, was halted. The city was in an economy crisis. Nothing was being produced, other than crime.

This is where you begin your story.

As you join the server, you can see that the city looks like a dump. Nothing is polished anymore... Nothing is new. The City 18 Battalion has stepped up their presence, as you will see. Be careful with what you do. Punishments can vary from a simple search to... Death. Everything you do is recorded and will be kept for Later. Oh, and remember...

    7/2/4/1/2.

    Rules
Basically we're go to do a PK type server. This meaning, if you die, civilian or unit, in any way ICly, your character will be permanently killed. We want to take realism in Half-life 2 RP a little farther then most servers do. Applying this rule will make you think twice before doing something stupid. We will also be applying a realistic Shoot-2-Kill system, meaning you'll duck and cover as you would in Shoot-2-Miss, and you won't just rush at them as you would in Shoot-2-Kill. We want you to duck and cover in a Shoot-2-Kill fight, we want you to be careful when fighting, because if you die, you're dead. We understand some players do not like Shoot-2-Kill, so if both parties agree on a Shoot-2-Miss scenario, then that can apply. Other rules are common sense. Don't hack, don't do anything you might think is against the rules. We know exactly how to catch scripters and will ban without hesitation. Our administration team is currently minimal, but are more than happy to answer any question you may have about the server.

    My Point of View
As I began development on this server, I wanted to do some stuff other servers haven't done. I wanted to really base the server off the players decisions, and not the administration teams. I want all players to feel as if they are apart of the community in some way, shape, or form and feel as if they can call our server Home. As I open up the server, I plan on starting a introduction event to the server, getting all the new players acquainted with lore and get everyone started. The introduction event is going to be an extremely important event that can change how the server goes forever, depending on the players choices. After the introduction event is over, all players will be free to begin their journeys in the City.

Another thing I am going to put an emphasis on is going to be events in general. Daily events are going to be the key to a successful server, providing each and every player a opportunity to develop their character more and more. These events will change what map we move to, what setting we go to, what characters die, and who gets to live.

    The City 18 Battalion
My goal for this faction is to have a more organized structure. There will not be any ranking structure, per-say. After completing recruit training, you will be placed in one of 4 of our divisions. There, you will be assigned a squad number (1-5). The ranks, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and such do not exist on our server. That number will simply be your squad number. No one has any authority over each-other. Each faction will have ONE Squad Leader, as-well as TWO Elite Units who will have the authority to command units in their division while the Squad Leader is away. The reason I chose this system, is the fact that I tend to have bad experiences with the generic ranking structure, starting at a Recruit, then working your way up to a Officer (OfC). Power hungry units, 04's commanding 05's, and just the same problems as always. I believe this system will eliminate those issues, and will open up new opportunities for the characters to develop their characters to work better with their squad mates, as-well as help players develop their characters a bit more. Progression will instead, be swapped with units being able to unlock access to new gear and weaponry, depending on the specialty they choose.

Support: Planting Mines & Charges, Providing cover for fellow squad-mates. Uses a Light Machine Gun.
Assault: Engaging targets and eliminating special targets. Uses a Assault Rifle.
Heavy: Breaching, clearing our high-priority rooms. Uses a Shotgun.
Roamer: Trans-versing the battlefield quickly, using mobility and Close-Quarters-Combat. Uses a Sub-Machine Gun.

E.X. For those who still dont get the ranking structure:
You have completed Recruit training. You now get to pick from 1 of the 4 factions.
UNION: Mechanical division. In-charge of repairing drones, and fixing weapons, and such.
SHIELD: Medical Division, In-charge of maintaing medical equipment, and tending to wounded/sick units.
SWORD: Socio-Stability Division, In-charge of relaying information to High command. Main sweep division.
JUDGE: Penalty Division, In-charge of extracting information from captured targets, and maintaining detainment cycles.

(Sort of irrelevant, but I felt as if some people would like to see the map before joining.)

I am aware that this thread has been made previously, but ended up dying out. The old owner, FayZ_Golden or Sants, quit roleplay. So, I am taking on our old project, but ended up editing it a bit to my liking. I reused the old format from the old thread & some of the old assets, such as the video, but edited it a bit better, as-well as fixed some of the grammar mistakes. Thank you for taking the time to read the thread! If you have any questions, feel free to PM me, Add me on steam, or leave a question here!

Wow HerozGaming is coming back again is it. Hopefully it can be as popular as when it first started. But since FayZ isn't going to be the owner that is going to feel a little odd.

Because that's how life works. :)

Yeah, it'll definitely feel different, but I can assure you that it will be under extremely professional management, despite my past.

As I stated, I used assets from the old thread which was not made by me. I was told by the old owner that the video was made -specifically- for HeroZGaming. I will proceed to take it down, as I was unaware that it was simply a copied video with our name on it. Sorry about that!

At the moment, it is only me who owns the server. I am not affiliated with Sants (FayZ) or InZaNe.
We're hoping to provide something unique to the community that isn't "generic". If you have any ideas on what we can do, let me know! Hope to see you on the server!

They shouldn't be walking talking robots, however.

There are humans under that mask. Mindless killing, unless Brainwashed beyond repair which would remove any human aspects from them... Seem a bit much. You need to balance humanity and order within the MPF ranks.

I will take this suggestion into mind. I thought people would want the opposite of that, due to people who have a character in the force usually spamming voice commands and "over-bullying".

I completely agree with this, and this was the first thing that came to mind as I began to develop the server. I can assure you that the server -will- enforce this. Thanks for the suggestion!

  12. You think? All I see on servers is "ISOLATE" "ISOLATE" and killing RP.

  13. Allow protection units to exercise their desired personality, yet enforce the 'careless bully' as the official standard in-character. You shouldn't really control how people behave beyond what is expected of them by their superiors, and how they'd react if the expectations aren't being met to their knowledge.

Also, to clarify, being an asshole doesn't mean someone is a 'robot', it's just what their personality is like. Though if someone's going to ruin a citizen's day, it should be made worthwhile and have an impact instead of a single comment before walking off.

  14. why not just remove VCs and the likes if you're worried about it

    <;; hahA!

Because, sometimes it has it's uses and I would rather keep it. I would rather just have the administration team be there to let a unit know to cool down on voice commands if he/she is over-using them.

  16. the only use i've ever seen it have is the BA plugins people make for unit's deaths. half of the VCs are actual overwatch and the rest are just edgy CPs screaming at u.

i mean, you wanna enforce quality roleplay, yet you have units getting a shortcut by typing keywords.
it's just laziness and edginess. btw, before it seeems like an excessive use of the word edgy

    1.
    tense, nervous, or irritable.
    "he became edgy and defensive"
synonyms: tense, nervous, on edge, anxious, apprehensive, uneasy, unsettled;More

what i mean is that units get a free pass to be tards. it's more or so abused so why bother.
    administrating =/= stopping.

you could always just make it so only HC get it tho :^)
