    I dont know mutch about the history of hl2rp, is there any ? i mean what was the first hl2rp server and was Clockwork the first real gamemode for it ? and when was it made ? Was Lemonpunch the first BIG Server ? with a huch comunity.

    If I remember correctly Rick Dark started TNB in 2007 and then Dave Brown took over. And since then the community has been on and off, using different versions of tacoscript until now. I think kuro also starting working on CCRPM in 2007, and that slowly evolved into what we know as clockwork through several iterations like Nexus, openaura, Blueprint, cider, etc.

    [darkRP -> tacoscript] was around the same time as [Cider -> Blueprint] if I recall correctly. The whole KudoMiku vs Rick Dark thing lmfao, so fucking funny back in the day.

    This is how I generally remember it, I could be wrong though so don't take my word. I jumped in around 2009 I'd like to say, when Cider was transitioning into Blueprint. Nexus was still being used as late as 2014 by Our Benefactors/The Dondi, who was apart of the ever evolving kuroScript at that time. The biggest communities then were TacoNBanana and Kudomiku's Community with a few other small ones floating around. I remember ShhhScript was a complete rip of tacoscript but as for the rest, just junky modifications to DarkRP pretty much.

    Was tacoscript really a branch of DarkRP? I did a lot of DarkRP stuff around then and was not personally involved with the development but was close to someone who was. That's super interesting and I didn't know that (or at least I've forgotten)

    TacoScript / TacoNBanana / Dave was the first massive HL2RP roleplaying community using TacoScript based from DarkRP. Dave and his crew made a lot of leaps in creating and building the way that HL2RP as a concept would come to be.

    In parallel, I ran a similarly massive HL2RP server where I wrote my own gamemode from scratch which over many many years turned into what you see today. I used parts of what Dave's lot had come up with, as well as creating various concepts of my own and automating entire systems such as the ration dispensing.

    But the reason for creating a framework and gamemode from scratch back then was because I wasn't a fan of DarkRP and I realized the potential HL2RP as a concept (and as a service) had.

    Over the years, especially at the start, there was a huge "power-void". Many developers and communities tried to fill it, I kept my HL2RP to myself for a long time before I decided to sell it and let other communities benefit from its goodness. One of my main motivations was that TacoNBanana had a complete monopoly on HL2RP, and I wanted to provide a service that allowed any old joe and his mates to create a server for their community with a superior script.

    It was no "dig" at TacoNBanana which was a great community that contributed a huge amount to the development of the concept, but I felt that there was a lot of people that wanted to start a server and couldn't, so I paved the way for that.
