HL2RP Error Not Running Script Runstring - It's Too Short

Discussion in 'Discussion' started by zealxi, Mar 21, 2014.

  1. Hey guys,

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this issue. We ran a server reboot maybe an hour ago prior to this post and I am now seeing a Not Running Script Runstring - It's Too Short Error. This is causing the gamemode not initiate.

    Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have downloaded and reinstalled all game mode files, I have also reapplied the Key, still no luck.

  2. Attached is a screenshot of the error:

Soviet Jesus Change is a good thing, at some points.

Who's your server host? Where did you place the serial key? Did it work before?

  4. This is hosted in house (my personal data center). Serial key location is: GarrysModDS\garrysmod\gamemodes\cwhl2rp\serial

This was working perfectly about 3 hours ago. 4 other players were also present once the server reboot was initiated, upon reboot this error began.

  5. Thank you for the information CakeZ, we are now on standby.

  6. I see a handful of servers still online, are we sure this isn't a local issue with just my server? It seems a few other servers are doing just fine.

  7. Try updating CloudAuthX to the latest version. Some hosts don't allow the uploading of DLL files, so people think that they uploaded the latest version of CloudAuthX because they uploaded all the files in their download, but in reality a little error pops up saying that it couldn't. Go to garrysmod/lua/bin in your latest download and upload that to garrysmod/lua/bin

If the upload fails, give the file to your host and ask them to place it there for you. If it doesn't fail, just say so here.

  8. Greetings SomeSortOfDuck. I'm actually the host of the server box (physical box), it is ran in a home data center. I have completely ran through the updating process, I also made sure those files were updated as well with the most current ones from the Cloud Sixteen account page, still no luck unfortunately.

It doesn't seem to even be reaching my Key in the authentication process. I can remove the Key file completely and I still see this error generate.

Any other ideas guys? I'm completely out of ideas of my own, however I'm still trying anything that comes to mind.

  9. Also, just something I'd like to add since it may be of use. Before this error started, I had accidentally removed all flags from one of my characters, this was performed in game through the remove flag function under the character sheet (while in game, not in the SQL database). Once this had happened I went ahead with a server reboot, I had thought this would restore the b flag as it is set to be granted by default, however the reboot was followed by the error I have outlined at the beginning of this thread.

  10. Uhh, no. Hush yourself.

zeal, do you have FTP? PM me your server's FTP info and I'll try to see what's up.

If he'd gotten a cracked version of the gamemode he wouldn't be having any trouble with CAX.

  12. Haha this made me laugh, no I didn't pirate it. I am a paying customer.

I tried the server this morning and the authentication went through. I guess this was in regards to the authentication issues Cloud Sixteen has been having.

Thanks again for every ones help. I will update you guys if further issues are experienced.
