    Was there an official C16 HL2RP server at one point? If so, how did it go?

    Not that I can personally recall.

    We had C2 and P4 Prior to the one that's up now which both ended awfully.
    I think C16 has a moral agreement not to host a HL2RP because people would more likely join the official one rather than player-made ones.

    In 2012/2013 there was one AFAIK, although obviously not Clockwork.

    That was it though, no other ones. And I feel it would do much, much, much, much, much more harm than good if Cloud Sixteen hosted their own HL2RP server. If you ask me, I still think the C16 Cider Two was really fun when I played and administrated on it. Although it died, as it usually does. @Sixx did a pretty good job with it all the times he ran it (except the one on early 2014 where he left ;)

    It would probably attract a lot of trolls, but I really wouldn't be opposed to trying it.

    If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, and it can be shut down instantly.

    I'm down to try if @RJ and @kurozael give the okay.

    I'm gonna assume they're not gonna want to.
    C2 and P4 are good for an official server, because there's not really any servers out there using those schemas.
    HL2RP is a huge seller for kuro and if I were him I wouldn't want to create competition. As for RJ, he probably wouldn't want people to think there is an "official" way for HL2RP to be played (lore is already a huge issue among new/inexperienced server administrations).
    I could be wrong though.

    I've been thinking of starting my own HL2RP community, but unfortunately my schedule is too busy atm to manage it.

    IMO an official C16 server would do HL2RP a whole lot of good. More people would join one server, rather than being spread out around 4 or 5 different servers. A lot of people might think otherwise because maybe they admin on communities that would lose players, but as a regular HL2RP player, i think it'd to a lot of good since i'm not a big fan of SCG or LP.

    Might as well merge the idea and make an official server, I'd be down to help run it, and I'm sure a lot of people here would probably play.

    If C16 creates a hl2rp server before the end of October, I'll create one or more plugins for it. I was mainly thinking of UI or visual effects stuff, but may be something else.

    As much as I'd like to (I would), I'm not interested in creating "official" competition for my customers on my best-selling schema.
