[HL2RP2] Some suggestions and hopes, debates..

  1. Amen. My bad.

  2. @Equi /Trollface. I\'m a former admin for kuro back in his \"Republic.\" I\'ve decided [and told TalkingWaterfall] that I\'m going to be the community troll :3.

<p>ok.. so.. wait what? Clockwork will be free did someone say?</p><p> </p>

  4. The plan has always been to make Clockwork free, but to charge for the developer created schemas. So if you can create a schema yourself, you can run it for free without buying anything (Except the server of course)

Ahhhh but i thought clockwork was a schema?

  6. Clockwork is the framework. It\'s to simplify the process of making seperate themed roleplay gamemodes.

    Dear kurozael, <div>
</div><div>Please, make sure to get the \"stack overflow\" error (openaura/sh_core:2122) fixed in Clockwork. It appears when you try to send a large message using non-ASCII chars (ie any of these: \"??????\").</div><div>
    </div><div>Thanks in advance.</div>

  9. Also, may you integrate the \"body changer\" tool to the gamemode ? Instead of having dozens of clones, this will make the game more realistic and content packs lighter.

I\'d like to see in the new HL2RP schema for CW some personnalisable lockers or personnalisable Faction Doors.<div>
</div><div>You know why? Because we want to keep for the factions some private spaces like for the Civil Protection (In the Nexus).</div><div>
</div><div>First, I tried to code a CombineLock for CWU citizens (because we made before some offices for them, recruiting new citizens in the CWU). But unfortunately, the work I have done didn\'t work... So, we needed to call by the OOC chat a unit of the Civil Protection to open the CWU offices.</div><div>
</div><div>Also, this idea of custom privates doors for factions (or classes) is very good.</div><div>
</div><div>What do you think about it?</div><div>
</div><div>Thanks you for paying attention to this :).</div>

  11. I believe that if you use the button tool and write CWU in the description, only CWU will be able to use it.
I know we had something like that once.

  12. I\'d personally like to see a better system for the UU. Specific duties that are to be delegated through the ranks by the commander. Better systems for identifying and labeling citizens. Quick radio commands using the various codes and a system mapping where you are. The ability for higher ranks to access and control city scanners and camera placed around the city. More inspections and over all roleplay involvement on behalf the UU instead of them just acting as ominous law enforcement.

  13. \"Specific duties that are to be delegated through the ranks by the commander.\"

This is suppose to be a roleplay gaming, not a game where you have to execute the same tasks again and again in order to \"win\" tokens... Roleplaying is about embody fictive characters and to give them a story, a psychology, friends, fears, dreams, etc...

\"Better systems for identifying and labeling citizens.\"

OOC ? Anti-RP. I guess you\'re one of those who sumerire the hl2rp by \"Combine\" VS \"Citizens\", and it\'s your right, but don\'t impose this to purist roleplayer.

    \" a system mapping where you are\"

    Useless and OOC, so Anti-RP.

    \" More inspections\"

The more you inspect, the poorer Roleplay is. But I don\'t want to argue with guys who are that blind about roleplay, my point is that these are too much useless features. If you wan\'t some custom features for your specific lite-hl2rp, then just code your schema/addons.

  14. Equi, I strongly disagree. I would like to see these features, as it is also important that the UU has a good time, and they can help to provide roleplay for the citizen. To be exact:<div>
    </div><div><span style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \">\"Specific duties that are to be delegated through the ranks by the commander.\"</span><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><span style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \">I agree that this may be mis-used, but to be honest, the MPF is trained in doing various jobs and are then assigned to something according to their qualifications. I do however think that this could easily be neglected by a commander and make the game very dull for an officer.</span><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><span style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \">\"Better systems for identifying and labeling citizens.\"</span><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><span style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \">No, this is just a way of saying \"Fingerprint Scanner\" or maybe even a DNA scanner. This is a way to show the citizen character that what they do may not just result in you getting detention right now, but also in the future this will affect you. I do believe this is present with /charviewdata or whatever the command is, but I think it should be improved so that you for example do not need to have the other char in front of you, but if you already know who the citizen is, you could find him in a database. As such I would also like to see a graphical interface for the viewdata, allowing the MPF to see all citizen entries and search through them.</span><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><span style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \">\" a system mapping where you are\"</span><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><span style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \">I don\'t see why the MPF wouldn\'t have a GPS-like system in their masks. I agree it\'s a little useless considering a player accepted for MPF should know the map well enough, but that may just be my opinion.</span><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><span style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \">\" More inspections\"</span><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><br style=\"font-family: \'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; text-align: left; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); \"><div style=\"text-align: left;\"><font face=\"\'lucida grande\', \'Lucida Sans Unicode\', tahoma, sans-serif\"><span style=\"line-height: 18px;\">No, inspection can help to provide roleplay. For example a citizen panicking because he\'s carrying contraband during an apartment inspection. There can be loads of making RP from this. You could also pick up a random citizen from the inspection and do an interrogation session with him or something like that. Would give the other citizens something to talk about.</span></font></div></div>

  15. I didn\'t say \"no inspection\" but \"not too much\". I had known servers in which the CCH was inspected every day, citizen systematically controlled for no apparent reason (which is unrealistic)... And all those thing, if they are abusively used, just ruin the citizens\' roleplay to a \"eat, walk, head down, and sleep\" RP, with no interest, with no possibility of creating a original story.

DNA scanner, well... technicaly the UU have the technology... But if every units can know where you were, to who did you speak, what things you touched, etc, so all citizens aligned \"resistance\" will be catch, destroying their roleplay.

For the rest, we agree : optional.

  16. Oh and I just thought about paper... Increase their size. 500 characters is not enough.

  17. <div>I believe you said the more you inspect, the poorer roleplay is, and I disagree with that. Yes, you shouldn\'t do it too much, but I don\'t think daily is too much, of course you have to consider how many players you have and how much the players are playing.</div><div>I hate the way most does rebel RP. I can only think of one really good rebel RP session I\'ve seen, and that was a looong time ago, with a player, admin at the time, named Phantom. I believe he\'s called something else now. But that was the way rebel RP is supposed to be.</div><div>Not something filled with guns and equipment, but something very down-to-earth where you never really do anything, because there\'s not really any point in resisting any more.</div><div>
</div>You misunderstand I think. The DNA scanner would be used if a citizen were detained, so that you can enter in a log what he did and other units can do the same. So if a citizen does too much bad stuff, you amputate.<div>It\'s not so that you can track their every movement.</div><div>
</div><div>And the mapping system is like a minimap for the MPF units, so they can assist each other. It\'s not for the citizens.</div><div>
    </div>

I already have a bubble chat system, almost identical to the one you described, as a plugin for openAura. It is very nice :D

  19. Don\'t make MPF, CPA, CCA or whatever THE FUCK it\'s gonna be called so complicated. 4 squads, simple ranks, etc.

  20. No, then its too simple.
