willy pete i'm going to cut off your face and wear it

frundtech rp had drones at one point i think

usually they were for frundtech scouting missions. maybe you could implement them as some sort of reconnaissance unit on a military rp server or something?

Why? Scouting missions, moving supplies, general surveillance are pretty good when these types of addons are implemented. Not to mention drones are becoming a real-life thing now, and are being used in more and more situations.

  6. bloated content and never used in the right capacity. the kind of people that use them are obnoxious and focus on tinkering with stupid addons rather than roleplaying.

  7. I could see drones being implemented in some kind of futuristic military rp. But for the love of god, just keep them out of HL2RP.

  8. In Dynex/False Liberties, drones were used occasionally; however, the only one who consistently used them was the server owner.

We had them in our Halo server, they were fucking stupid.

Recon in a Military RP is a waste of fucking time for the main fighting force and is just a gate for people to think they're elite when they aren't. TRUST ME. Take it from me who made the mistake of trying it.

ok, still, they can be used for scenery, but yeah.

You could do /way/ better than quadroter things for scenery.

  14. They should just be used for fuckery in Sandbox lol
The controls are wonky as fuck and half the time look out of place on clockwork servers

  15. Scanners are enough.

I had experimented with them when I was working on a Cyberpunk-ish project that I ended up scrapping. If you leave them to trusted people, they actually worked out fairly well. In the RP that I was working on, they were used as a first responded alternative to using humans; Cut down on the risks of losing Officers. The way they work actually cooperated with Clockwork because the CW speech system followed along with the drone when it flew, meaning that the drones could talk and do commands just as a regular player.
