anyways im on mobile atm so Ill be brief

I was playing darkrp w my friend and he told me he found a server that was like darkrp but "more serious" and in halflife and so I was like ??? hell ye

and then like some cmb threw a grenade at us and it exploded but it didnt kill us and the CP said ICly we would have died and we were bitching and getting all salty bc we didn't understand what IC is

anyways that was 2,200 hours of gameplay ago

I remember just being bored with friends and looking through the gamemodes, and I found HL2RP. I joined some shitty server with my friends and we all got blocked off into the City 45 apartments. The CP's were generic and edgy and we got S2K'd a lot for trying to leave the apartments. I tried to roleplay, but I didn't exactly know what I was doing. My friends got bored and disconnected and I continued to play HL2RP on an overpopulated, garbage server. I think it became a sort of guilty pleasure for me, my friends started playing other things - and then I got into HL2RP seriously, started to learn how to roleplay, found a new server. I actually didn't talk to my old friends for about six months and I played nothing but HL2RP. I had a lot of edgy adventures and now i've grown past the "rebels r fun!" phase. That was... 2700 or so hours ago.

 

I like RP. I like Half Life 2. I saw the gamemode and was like "ok" almost 2.5 thousand hours later, here I am.

 

didnt have css and wanted to join a gmod rp server
joined hl2rp because everyone has hl2 content
i took everything seriously as fuck and was afraid of doing anything after i got beat to shit for running

 

I only played singleplayer gmod, saw a CW server and I thought "Oh cool is that like a Clockwork Orange or something?" I read about HL2RP online and then I failed to connect to the server. I think it was about two years later when I actually decided to go back and try to join a server.

 

I was playing on a Sandbox server called Grigori's Funland or something in 2007, then joined Shh Roleplay and stuck with that for a while. Then I just played wherever I felt like it, haven't really stuck with one community for long.

 

Needed something better to do, I heard of it but never looked into it.

The overwhelming amounts of autism from the SWGEMU RP community pissed me off so much that I decided to finally look into it.

I got bored one day playing darkrp and got on hl2rp.. I was so fucking scared and when a CP came infront of me, I just disconnected.

 

I saw the words "HL2" and thought It'd be some type of extension to DarkRP.
This Admin had stopped me, for writing a backstory in the description space, Then let me go.
2 minutes later this CP had stopped me, I was bat-shit scared because they were using the HD-Models, the HD-MPF with the blue-glowing visors, I ran into a corner, where he kept on saying in LOOC "Dude, Roll." I kept on backing up into a corner, where the Admin explained what SeriousRP was and how to seriously-roleplay; They were both good sports, until I ended up being detained the next-day and spent awhile in Detainment, with this guy next to me that kept on spouting some shit about Ketchup.

didnt know what it was at all, not even the hl2 part.
i think the rp part i knew what it meant. i joined.
i made a character, i thought the voice desc was actual working voices n shit, then a guy taught me the basics and that day, i learnt how to have sex well in hl2r- be a good rper.

 

i saw cw:hl2rp in the gamemodes and i said to myself 'hey, the category is high enough, it does have some players'

i joined some server called lightspeedgaming

i ran around and got arrested

later some guy walked up to me and asked if i wanted to join the resistance

i said yes and got a gun

also a few servers later i opened a out in the open (next to the fucking nexus) gunshop

like literally upfront not like a password and you get the guns

 

Was with my friend on Skype, he said "Hey have you played hl2rp ?", I replied no. So anyway this was back in the days of OpenAura, I joined a community called "Proton community", spent a while on there, discovered the MPF immediately applied, got declined 4 times because I had no fucking idea what RP was because it was an alien thing that is considered weird to most. 3K hours later, I roll up with the conclusion that the only gamemode I will ever play on Gmod, has to have CW: in front of it.

 

Scotto6uk... I found him on YouTube and said, "Hey, this looks like fun!" And joined a server called progressive rp

I remember going through the server list and trying out random gamemodes, then I stumbled across OA HL2RP.

It was actually on 'impulse's server, I ended up getting banned by him for trying to farm attributes.

 

Slidefuse, I was banned for not knowing how to play at all...

 

Yeah... Most of them are middle aged fat people. Some are actual RPers I knew from live, and they're alright but the rest... Jesus.

Ot:
I was watching a trolling video from a long time ago, decided to join and troll one server. Got banned and decided to actually try it, as a former RPer from SWG. Sadly that community is cringe central as Jericho said. Don't RP much anymore however.

 

SWTOR is difficult for coherent RP. Too many people, too much at once, too many people who aren't serious about it but try to RP anyway. Bothersome.
