If you could update Clockwork

  1. If you could update Clockwork, what would you do?

    What would you add?

    What would you remove?

    Why would you add said object(s)?

    Why would you remove said object(s)?

    Also, people. Keep in mind that there's PULL REQUESTS. But anyway, what would you do to Clockwork if you had the power to update the script?

    Any Schema with skill points, have those removed, optimize as much as possible with all schema's, remove PK, replace it with a character perma ban (that happens when ever a character dies or when an admin forces it upon a player) that can be removed at anytime, aka (/me shoots you, Char PB, talk to admin, admin agrees "that was fucking stupid", Unban, die in a legit way, never use the same character again because hey you're a(n) allstar roleplayer.)

    I think the character menu is nice. Really, it'd be a nightmare to remake it anyways. There's almost 3000 lines of code for the menu and the functions it uses.

    IIrc that's the OA char select you're talking about.

    I would recolor the GUI boxes to be OA boxes, the white inventory breaks me away from the actual game, and add a fucking scrollbar to the inventory. The Char select screen should be lightened up a bit, and I'd probably merge checkpoint/valence to the clockwork admin system, aswell as some other essential plugins to the schemas[/r, more CP vocodes, combine assistant], i don't know if a customizable hud is possible in derma because i don't know shit about it.

    But maybe individual color schemes for players to customize. Because right now clockwork's pretty strict about what you can/cant do ;c

    1.) Aging/Year Updated by default.

    2.) Administration command lay-out simpler. It took me a week alone to memorize the CW commands.

    3.) Modeling and easier configuration settings, FA:S 2 availability working, simpler for the user yaddah yaddah yaddah.

    4.) (Personal Preferance.) Game Model expansion, add a few ones from In-game, some are so neglected, and people just add them in themselves.

    5.) Improved Admin ESP. Display Items/Salesmen/Other Entities, all whilst being able to be toggled.

    And that's about it.
     
  7. I'd only throw #3 and #4. The config is already easy to use, and models are a schema thing.

    But the thing with the time not progressing, easier administration and ESP are good points, though. The vanilla admin tools are a bit lacking, and they could definitely go further (Valence as standard plugin pls). The ESP is just... lackluster, not to mention it takes up quite a lot of space. You could definitely have a better ESP with smaller fonts and info about things like entities (especially dropped cw items).

    I'm glad people have given up hope of a new update, that relieves a lot of stress and pressure, maybe now that we're no longer paralyzed by burden we can actually get something done ha ha.

    But I probably still won't update because I'm an idiot and made core modifications instead of plugin.
     
  11. I haven't given up hope, really. People just need to learn some patience, despite it being a year or so since the mentioning of Severance - It's a game that one dude is working on for the most part, maybe two. I'm pretty sure TheGarry is working on some updates for Clockwork.
