  2. I have already admitted that the original claim that 'this isn't a HL2RP edit' was false and our fault entirely. I'm not trying to pull a fast one but I genuinely didn't understand the second part of your argument.

    Are we not allowed to create what we think makes our thread stand out or more interesting? Whether it actually helps or not is a different argument, but you're implying that those fancy pictures, headers, and other things those different community threads are doing are useless to? They're used to just create some hype and be entertaining. While I admit it was our fault that our OP consisted more of these 'useless trailers' than actual information, I do not agree that these trailers are 'useless'.

    The whole point of these threads are to generate hype for our server by showing off our flashy and unique features (weapon durability, the weapon inspect, bashing, etc). Similar to game trailer, we have to generate the most hype possible with what we think is interesting. I completely agree that we are making the roleplay schema for the roleplay, it's just that showing off roleplay is hard when the server isn't even open to the public yet. When the server is open, we do fully intend to focus more on roleplay than showing off our features.

    Good idea, Clockwork: Decay is a good name however I have seen it used before. We chose Clockwork: Severance because that was the last 'zombie' schema me and Fowler played on, and definitely have some good memories and nostalgia of it.

    Good thing they're developers and don't really have to interact with people. They came in this thread HOT. As for the name, it's not a big deal if we changed it from Clockwork: Severance to say, Clockwork: Decay. We just have already made a few assets with 'Severance' on it and don't really have a reason to change other than two people being mad over it.

    though I don't agree you should've named it Severance I can definitely see why you did, and it's not a bad idea though you should use a different name to relate your server to.

    this doesn't look bad, and your trailer thing was pretty nice though it just showed off parts of two maps. including some feature vids was a nice touch as well, I might check this out if I can sometime

  4. I love the idea, but the two devs didn't need to write a whole paragraph and degrading the whole idea.. Just say that you do not agree with the "Severance" naming and that's all....
     
  5. When we chose the name Clockwork: Severance, we didn't intend to make it sound like the 'official' revival and had no intentions of creating unnecessary argument. Since several of you have (nicely!) asked us to change the name, we will go ahead and do so.
    We went ahead and chose Clockwork: Outbreak, and Fowler is currently in the act of re-doing most of the media that was under the name 'Severance'. When completed, we will go ahead and completely remake the OP including more progress videos, and more information about the server itself, including a (estimated) release date.

    I don't agree with the Severance naming because I was one of those people that assumed it was official for a moment, but, I also don't think it needed to become a shitfest of everyone freaking out.

Hello everyone, by the time 1-3pm ET rolled around today (our tentative launch date), there were still a few things we felt needed more testing/could be further developed and just a few more things could be tweaked for sever performance (mostly regarding the NPC zombies that can pile up quick).

    We've decided to go ahead and just delay it to one day (6/14), but keep the same time of about 2PM ET. Hope this doesn't cause a problem for anyone, and if you haven't already, check out the content and forums.

    Clockwork: Outbreak
    Now Open
    A Serious Survival RP set during a strange Pandemic.

    Well, today, we opened. And it was glorious. ~20/30 players, which was good for opening day. RP lasted for about a good nine hours before everyone had to go to sleep. Didn't get many screenshots myself, but it was great with everyone. People learned more about the infection, set up their own little cliques and niches, and truly established an immersive survival setting.

    We had only a few bugs, most of them on Garry's end, and overall the playerbase was well received, and seemed to enjoy the roleplay.

    We'll be RPing daily from this point on!

  14. About that little../it at the bottom of the picture (someone stripping), I thought I'd add a little context so you don't think people are just stripping in a graveyard for fun. The character got bit when a infected sneaked in through a hole we forgot to patch up and basically gave the rest of the little group anything she had on her and ran away so she didn't become a problem (I think she killed herself somehow, got PKed tho).

    But as for the server, we got a pretty positive reception and I'm actually working on fixing most of the minor bugs right now (issue with pac, few models being errors) when the server is dead at like 4 in the morning.

    If you were a little hesitant and first and haven't checked us out, I recommend you give it a go now that the server is out of its launch phase, and after lots of testing (testing different types of events, stress testing with npcs) we generally know the do's and dont's of what we can or cant do.
