  1. I'm looking to start a community and I need help.

Hello, my name is ATLAS. I am attempting to start a community and need help.

    I know I need a:
    • Server Host - MUST BE A WINDOWS SERVER AND NOT INSANELY PRICED.
    • Website/Forum Host - Would prefer an easy setup, as I've never done this before.
    • Teamspeak 3 Host. - Whatever the most affordable without an excessive quality loss.
    This is not an advertisement.
And this is not a cry for requiring a coder, staff, or any of that - I am simply looking for resources.

    Thank you,
    ATLAS.

Use HC-Servers. With your schema purchase, I do believe you get 10% off your first three months.

    sants1 I'm an asshole. That's all.

NFO servers would be a better choice if you want actual DDoS protection.

My suggestions buy a VPS (Virtual private server), install your website, game server, and Teamspeak 3 server on to it. Then buy a domain name, and point it at your website. As for easy set up, you're going to need to lean a bit of tech savy stuff like installation of different web software's. For one don't have a website>forums>store etc, use MyBB and have it all inclusive. Or if you use individual software, find some sort of bridge to link it all together.

1:)Why is a VPS better, because it will save you allot of money, and you'll keep password, and usernames down for different admin interfaces. And adding to that you have complete shell access to it, and you can manage and install updates on your own. Virtual servers, are connected to from a windows environment via an RDC client, (Windows has one default), or using the VPS's integrated VNC client.

2:)You said simple, now for one if you are not prepared to, or have someone to help you with techie stuff. Please don't bother making a server, I say this in your best interest. Because Clockwork may have errors you have to debug, or you may have other issue's requiring it. Like for a website if you use MyBB, SMF, PhunBB, PhPBB, Vanilla forums, etc you'll need MySQL knowledge. And additional stuff like basic HTML, and CSS for styling and adding different things. Of course most community based web software use PHP, how ever mostly won't need to bother with.

Any specific reason as to why you're looking for a Windows server?

  7. Windows = Clockwork.
    Linux doesn't like Clockwork.
    And you know why.

I recommend Exiguous-Productions. Great hosting from RJ and slots are only 0.40 cents for each one prices start at 4 dollars for 10 slots! Plus you can get some of RJ's plugins if you get the right amount. Here is the page. You can find the plugins page in the knowledgebase.

I use them for both my servers.

Also if you want TeamSpeak I recommend multiplay. 20 slots for a TS3 for them is equivelant to around 3 dollars USD(2.50 or something in euro's).

    Here you can find them.

As for web hosting you should probably use Hosting24(My favorite), GoDaddy or 1and1.

Or like what Shaun said, you can get a VPS and install all 3 on there, but that requires some technical knowledge, plus they can be costly and with the added costs of the schema, domain and having to get a MySQL database somehow(if not provided) it can be as much as 100 dollars or more. It also depends on what plan you use, the cheaper it is the worse it is, that's why you should always get the middle plan.

That's all I have to say, good luck with a community.

I may use Exiguous-Productions if I decide to open a server again.

But it's still something. There really aren't any other better gaming-focused hosts that offer more than NFO and don't charge an absurd amount.

Agreeing with Fixxer above, going to NFO is like a commitment, but if this is your first time it's the easiest to set up. Yet, it also has a few restrictions. Overall, amazing quality, above par machines, and fair player/$ system. Of course, you could also look into one of our fine hosts on C16.
