Hello. I am the owner of the server. I go by tdabamf1 or my real name Tyler.

I started this server with my friend vfonzie because we noticed that roleplay in HL2RP is fading to what it used to be. When I first started roleplaying on HL2RP, I actually feared the CP that walked up to me. The CP were dangerous and not people to mess with. Resistance members were struggling to find food, not weapons. And ontop of that, the admins and the roleplay were serious. Admins weren't abusive nowadays on servers I'm on.
We wanted to start a serious server that is focused on bringing you the best possible roleplay. We also want to give you a -good- staff. We don't allow abusive admins to join. They also have to speak with full grammar. We want to invite some players to join our community and have a fun time, this is also a revival to our old server which got popular and we had some great times.
Our forums is currently free, yes, but we are testing the waters to see how our server does at the moment. We are looking to buy a domain afterwards. We are also looking for a graphics designer or a server coder. I know we don't have the greatest banners on this thread but I tried my best since I'm no GFX designer. We have six factions on our server. The Combine Civil Authority, Overwatch Transhuman Arm, Citizen, Rebel, Civil Workers Union, and Civil Administrator.


The Combine Civil Authority is citizens who joined the Combine to maintain civil authority in the cities.
Currently we are recruiting CCA Units in-game but followed with a short application online that should take ten minutes tops. We are looking for units that will take the game seriously, and will make the roleplay for the citizens immersive as possible making the server a good experience.

I'm willing to teach people how to roleplay units properly so newbies who want to join are defiantly welcome, you will learn fast and become a great roleplayer and have a good amount of fun yourself. Currently we are looking for high ranking units to control the divisions, and are hoping we can have people that will play daily so we can get our playerbase started.



The Overwatch Transhuman Arm or OTA for short is the elite soldier that is the backbone of the Combine. You can be part of the OTA if you have a CCA unit for at least a week, and you apply on the forums. The OTA is for raiding rebel bases, securing the Nexus if it's in code red state, or possibly called in if there is large riots on the streets. I want people who play the OTA to be high-quality roleplayers as this a powerful position.



Ah, the Citizen. Everyone starts here, and some people think it's a boring role but I find it the most interesting! Your citizen can represent you, or some other person. You can be creative with your backstories, what you do in the city, your attitude towards the combine. You can be a loyalist, or you can even be a rebel. Remember to be scared of the Combine!



The rebel! Which is also a very fun role. You will be in the outskirts of town doing all the rebel business, wanting to take down the combine. We will stage many events with the rebels to make the role interesting. To become a rebel on this server isn't easy, you have to find IC (In-character) connections to find a way to join.



The Civil Workers Union, or CWU. You can join the CWU by applying on the forums, it's a fun role where you can sell UU-branded goods to the citizens of the town. Including flashlights, food, and other stuff to enhance your roleplay experience. These guys are very loyal to the combine.



The Civil Administrator. You're one of the people that control the town. You are basically a mayor, you deliver speeches on the broadcasted screens all over the city that the citizens would stop to watch. You can receive letters from citizens on their thoughts and ideas, and you're a very highly recognized public figure. You are completely loyal to the combine, and have a good relationship with the CCA. You are also going to be guarded by an OTA unit if you ever leave the office.



Our server is on the map rp_c18_v1. Yes I know, the map is quite generic but we are going to switch to a different map later when we get more a of playerbase. This map is highly reliable and it's quite a good place for roleplay.

Our server is hosted by NFOservers as is based in Chicago. The server has 25 slots and always has a good ping. We are currently using the clockwork HL2RP gamemode. Doors in the apartment building can be purchased and so can doors in the outskirts of the city. I can guarantee that the roleplay will be high quality and there will be a small amount of OOC except if it has to do with the roleplay.

I know you said your not a GFX person, but really those banners are so inconsistent i could cry ._.

Yeah sorry. It's just there was so many negative comments on the old one I didn't want it look like this is bad server since I put less effort in the advertisement. I didn't know it was such a major component to getting people to join so I kind of blew it off, thanks for the feedback and I hope you give the server a try possibly. I'm trying to get as many players as I can to establish a playerbase.

All those plugins come with the gamemodes. Might wanna add some custom ones?

Got on the server. One player. It's the owner.

He's AFK, so I have no one to roleplay with. Also, when I was creating my character, the attributes menu was bugged.

I can't really rate this, as I had nothing to do on the server.​

 

attributes menu is working perfectly fine for me. maybe you have a conflicting clientside addon causing your attributes to bug out?

also i'm on now, the influx of players should increase so you should find some roleplay.

 

No. When I was placing my attributes it said that I had 30.9891495195179 (a random collage of numbers) left.

 

Like I said before, I'm not seeing this on my screen. I think it might be on your side, but I will have someone else test if they're having the problem

nevermind, the owner fixed it, he just told me.

 

I'm not even going to try to join because of the cliche of people thinking that they can fix hl2rp by attempting to make a difference.

Just go troll some darkrp and have fun instead of sinisteringly trying to revive a gamemode thats dead.

you can make a difference in HL2RP. nowadays I see servers that have canon and whatnot that change the HL2 universe to something completely different. the civil protection aren't as brutal and terrifying as they once were, literally being like modern day police instead of harsh enforcers that can be unfair, but always strict to the code and command they're given. with immersion gaming we will only accept the best of the best CP that actually know how to roleplay like this. resistance groups in the outer districts of the city will be found out about and be dealt with harshly aswell. since this is not outlands, rebels will find it -a lot- harder to live within the city. our staff will also be the same way as the CP, the best of the best. we are not looking for admins who haven't had any experience roleplaying on HL2RP whatsoever. the admins we're looking for are veterans of HL2RP and are fair in how they distribute bans, kicks, and punishment for people who decide to break the rule. since i've recently come back to see what HL2RP is now, i wish to see it turned back to what it used to be before, by which i so fondly remember.

tl;dr change the aspects of roleplaying within the factions to a better state, make the civil protection more terrifying as they should be, citizens more oppressed, and rebels less likely to form within the city. and no vortigaunts, pls, this isn't outlands.

 

This server is under the Sandbox gamemode, whats going on?
