TheHipster rhenz is a fairly decent fellow

And to think I missed this.
Damn, it actually looks pretty good, I'll probably look into to it later on, but if I don't I was probably busy.

    Either way nice work.

An engine is just a series of tools that make creating a game easier.

  3. It's like the chassis of a car, or a house's foundation. You have to start out somewhere, and you just kinda do.

A game engine is the frame for everything else, and everything else really doesn't serve any other purpose than to utilize the frame to create something usable (and pretty, who likes games that looks absolutely horrendous).

This sounds awesome, I'm really looking forward to this type of thing. If it's voxel based though, the people who aren't so... "Right" up there will probably spamming your e-mail saying that you copied Minecraft, that they're going to report you to Notch or whatever. Anyway, good luck with this.

  5. Tydosius

    Tydosius I am deeply sorry.

I still don't understand. Creating an engine sounds really difficult and time-consuming.

  6. Actually have more hype for this than Serverance. Go kurozael!

Making a game engine is the worst idea unless you need one to work a specific way that other available engines don't and you have a large development team.

Not to completely derail the thread on purpose but hey look it's your 1500th post.

Yeah, Jasper isn't a game engine. It's a voxel engine. The game engine is Unity 3D.
