It's amazing what can be done with a different framework...
I keep seeing all these a different framework servers coming up and they look amazing, it's great to see how far a different framework has come.

Considering making the switch after seeing this o.o

Not a fan of a different framework, but I might try this server out, it looks well developed.

 

Is it true we have to download 3GB of content?

 

I'd rather install elite dangerous if that's true...

If you don't want to play, that's fine. However, there is no reason to be blaming any of our administrators like that. If you have any issues with current or past administration, feel free to add me on steam. I have already linked my steam profile above if you would like to discuss the matter. I personally think it's a very stupid decision to not re-try our server due to past experiences on Spire. In fact, I have already posted a lengthy bit in the OP explaining why you should give it another go. Ultimately, that is your decision.

I'd say this has been in development for more than a year (that's including our past iterations).

Our current content pack (uncompressed) is at about 1.2GB. Whatever else we put into it may increase the size, but it will be compressed as best as possible. Our aim is to give everyone plenty of hours of RP without having to pay a penny, so whether you want to download our content pack and hop on will be your choice. It's still a smaller option compared to most other AAA games, with equal or more opportunities for entertainment.

 

One criticism if any or rather a concern is the community it's self. I remember spire being more toxic than a cyanide inhaler laced with asbestos.. Is this going to be any different? If so how? How will the toxicity be avoided or whatever? I remember the server and content being great, but the forum and the people, don't even get me started......

As someone who rped on the LAZARUS SRP, I seriously hope it's ran differently than there.

Thanks, although something to keep in mind is that this is the 1.0 version of a different framework and our schema files are actually larger then a different framework itself.

a different framework servers scare me due to the fact I rarely see them populated, ya know?

 

Population wasn't an issue at Spire, doubt it would be here.
