Linux and Macs do not work with clockwork.

  4. I am pretty sure that it has been said that it will work with Linux. I guess it will just take longer.

I asked a past Clockwork contributor a while ago, it's in the plans, just not yet

  6. I am quite disappointed with the lack of Linux support, the fact that OpenAura no longer works with GMod due to the 13 release saddens me. I was one of the few people that had to figure out and get OpenAura working on Linux before any sort of official release happened. Granted I was using DLL's and SO's from those that developed them on Facepunch, but hey if it works who's going to complain.

Unfortunately it wasn't Officially Supported Then And even Now Linux still is not supported nor are any progress updates or any sort of mention. You'd think with the Advent of Steam Officially Starting Support for Linux Environments now that developers and Programmers would take the hint and at least attempt, let people know that they're looking at, working on, or have a progress report on porting their software to Linux.

@Alex This is what you said before/during the Beta, what changed?
Literally no one has pestered you or kuro about this as much as they probably should have, but we've heard nothing on the subject. What's the Deal?:
I honestly don't see what's holding Cloud Sixteen up, the lack of support, and updates on this are unsettling. Quite honestly the only thing they'd need to do is edit file paths in a few lua files, fix the code to make sure every file referenced in each gamemode are set to the proper case-sensitive file name, and change the linking of the win32.dll's to linux .so's instead. Granted Cloud Sixteen would actually have to put forth some effort and compile a Linux Shared Object for their CloudAuth DRM DLL, but it's not like they don't have the source code for it, it is their proprietary custom DRM.

If you actually read what I said; "We're not going to neglect Linux, once CloudAuth is finished for Windows I'll be working on making it work on Linux. We may ship a very basic version of CloudAuth for linux on release and update it soon after."

I clearly said that I wasn't going to neglect it, Clockwork is at development version 0.84 which means it's not even fully released. I never said I will definitely have linux support once CloudAuth is complete, I said I "may" ship a very basic version. You're acting like I've said 100% it'll be out by now and I haven't, I said I'll do it and I will. Clockwork has had some serious issues and frankly most customers are on windows and making sure Clockwork (the actual product) works correctly is more important than getting CloudAuth working on linux. It's not as simple as changing a few things at all. Also because you've convinced yourself I've forgotten or don't care; [IMG]

Here's an update for you, Clockwork is now on version 0.85. Now with that information go read alex's last post and replace where he says 0.84 with 0.85.

  11. I'm guessing we should give up at Linux support shouldn't we? It's been 7 or 8 months since we heard anything and Clock Work is now on 0.9. Which is really a shame as I only run Linux Servers and I cannot use my CW licenses with Linux GMod. This is really disappointing, but I'm not surprised as with most developers they only develop for systems they are most familiar with and shun anything outside their comfort zone.

Was that really necessary, its been like 8 months since the last post. IF you had that much of a concern create a new topic, who know's it might come at 1.0

  13. Why create another topic when there's a perfectly good topic right here?!
