Other Make a new gamemode

Yo Yo, So since HL2RP is dying which we can all agree on as we’ve all had our fair share of HL2RP. I’ve been working on an idea for the past year and have only just started in development for the gamemode as a whole. It’s based on a 21st Second American Civil War (I’ll link the lore down in the bottom). It is somewhat of a Military RP gamemode but with more of a Story which is focused on characters lifes during the split of the United States once more. The gamemode will be based around Passive, Combat and Strategical RP which will push the player to use more thinking instead of suicidal running in to action (Ik that word made no sense). Feel free to drop comments below about what you think. If you can develop and want to help out than that’s awesome hmu.

The Lore

 

I mean at least you aren't like most people who go "Hurr I'm so unique for making a STALKER RP server!!1" But who is fighting who? I don't want ten different factions going at each other.

 

Pretty much you have two factions which would be The Unionists to restore America back to its old values before trump was elected and the Federals which wish to reform America it back in to a newer system with different values (Which is still being deiced atm)

Or you can look at it like the First Civil War which the Unionists are the USA and the Federals are the Confederate without the Slavery etc

 

Interesting idea, and I would totally try my best to pitch in for the success, whether it be beta testing and/or helping with story development.

The only things that I see being a major obstacles are the possible custom mapping, and coding for plugins/schema.

Although it's not quite the same, I have a massive fetish for revolutionary stuff. It sucks though because it's a really shitty scenario for a RP setting considering it just makes one side overpowered as fuck and doesn't work out unless done perfectly really. The thing that sucks about servers divided into two major factions like WW3RP is that it literally splits the playerbase in half to where they can't RP together in any realistic way. I'm not particularly interest in exactly what you've come up with unfortunately, but I'm down to chip in to some other similar ideas if desired. I can help with writing/mapping if you'd like.

im surprised an arg about the backlash from trumps election doesnt involve calexit, youd have some serious grounds for civil war there

 

I choose not to explore that due to it doesn't seem that really realistic and theirs not much creativity you could actually do there to expand it in to this kind of area that i have developed.

 

can you summarise what the book is about?

 

Would players only play as one faction, or are they free to chose which side they fight for?

The main problem with lores that have "controversial" factions is that if players have to fight under one ideology, some may find it hard to act as a person who differs from their own personal beliefs. This may end up being your default if you cannot gather a large loyal group of players before launch, since it is hard to keep two factions running well at once when there are only like 7 people online.
