My Dog

My father found my canine friend in a ditch beside the road on our property (it is a dirt road that is entirely blocked off to anyone who does not have the gate password). He was breathing but unable to move. I'm praying that he is okay but I am not a religious man. Anybody want to share their thoughts on why he can't move? Currently I think he is very tired or something else that is unknown to me. NOTE: Not trying to shitpost, and no vets are currently open :'(

If it was found in a ditch, someone probably thought it was dead. Or it just decided to go there for no real reason. Any injuries you're willing to list if there are any? I unfortunately don't know anything about animals.

 

Unsure of injuries since I'm, like, 70 miles away.

 

Ask your father if he can find any injuries.

 

Status update: The vet says he's doing better but he apparently ate something posionous.

 

Probably mushrooms or berries.

 

Status Update: Some type of rat poison/something like that. They say he has a 70% chance of living. So, everyone cross your fingers, please.

 

Went to go see him, he's definantly doing much better, I told him all the good times we had and such... It'd truly be a tragedy for man's beast friend to die... On the off chance he dies, I'm going to take my leave from the internet world for a very long while.

I'm glad it turned out like this, for you. I don't have any pets. Well, not anymore. My cat got hit by a car two years ago on new year's eve.

man, my cat died because people put rat poison in like, bread and stuff.

she was out, and came back, crawling, and dropped unconscious on the doorstep.

had to be put to sleep.

 

He probably ate some mushrooms or berries and slowly yet not painfully died. I'm crying right now. EDIT: He ate some random stuff and died around six AM.

 

I'm not gonna say old yeller again.

It's unfortunate to hear, but animals usually have lower resistance to these kind of things, especially docile ones. It's nature, we can't make it safe for our animals.

Curiosity can kill, and it has shown such in this case.

Honestly I saw the title of the thread and I thought Dunjam had returned and was going to go on a rampage of planner BBQ's and murder plots.

Either way. I know your feels.

Lost three dogs, three cats a shitload of fish (they count as pets, piss off), one hamster, mouse

and the list goes on

They all died of age though. Apart from one of my cats which go run over with no remorse from the driver.

It almost doesn't seem real... Like, it feels like a dream that you can't wake up from. I've had dogs die from old age before, but never something random like this. He just died. Randomly. Luckily I got to say my goodbyes before he passed. Also, Martz, mind contributing to the thread instead of doing that? Going to the vet right now to see what exactly happened.

 

Half of Cloud Sixteen is so disrespectful in these kinds of situations.
