New Community/ Server

    Hello, basically I am planning on creating a new server and perhaps in the future a new community. One of my main goals is to get a HL2RP, or code an alternate schema like I did before (Star Wars RP). Anyways I am curious to see a couple things -
    • What do you guys like to see in a HL2RP server?
    • What don't you like?
    • If I were to code an alternate schema what would be some good ideas, or things you would play

    I like: Things for citizens to do, well maintained Civil Protection, Sectorial Commander who doesn't have MPF in his name, and nice looking prop work.

    I don't like: Observer Admins, Sectorial with MPF in his name, 05-DvL rank structure, bland map, nothing for anybody to do.


    Oh, and MPF. I don't like MPF, make it CP.

    Sectorial is considered UU. Not MPF. The 05-DvL ranking is fine, IMO, and if you're going to choose a map like C18, you need to make it well propped up, ect.

    There is no known ranking system in HL2, therefore it is based on the server's canon.

    I'd have a Sector Commander with the standard Civil Protection alias in their name, though, they're commanding Civil Protection, not the Universal Union.

    Preferably i5-i1 due to the default CP model having i4 in his armband.

    Civil Protection is unorganized in canon, there's no ranking system, "i4" refers to the specific district/precinct/area of City 17 that you arrive in.

    What I like to see in a HL2RP server:
    Fairness between Resistance and the Universal Union (MPF, OTA .etc)
    A good staff team, along with a coder.
    Friendly people...?

    Don't choose staff members based on how long you know them or anything else, select them based on skill.

    No LolWebuls

    Admins who know how to handle what.

    Please no NPC events, those just piss people off and make the new RPers happier.(Educate them.)

    Let players have some power, don't make yourself the SeC.
