New hack going around?

Sly sent me this and I think someone cough [member=5482]duck[/member] [member=4099]NightAngel[/member] should make a anti cheat script into the clockwork gamemode.

Commands that would be useful to add,

host_framerate
mat_wireframe
lua_openscipt_cs
lua_openscript

and any other commands that you can think of.

Although this really has nothing to do with the situation above I still think it should be made. Or a auto convar to set it so sv_allowupload is disabled. In a plugin or such so in the config menu if the server owner wants it to be enabled they can just go and do it.

The novabox thing turned out to be a scrambler plugin (Someone lacked to tell me that and [member=3360]Kemerd[/member] had to verify) BUTTTTTTT It was real for me, not so much as a hack but more of an annoyance. I would love someone forever if they made that a plugin though, come on..... you know you want a hug and my eternal love.

But seriously it would make a "fail-proof" thing, cause you know... gmod hacks come out quicker than newspapers.

 

If we made an anti-cheat, cheaters would work their way around it.

 

Tis a never ending battle of which one party will find a way to out-smart the other, and soon enough the opposing party will find a way to out-smart that. We develop a anti-cheat, new cheats come out, we develop more anti-cheats, even more new cheats come out. It's an unbeatable system that just goes in one big loop.

Quite possibly might maybe have been Pootis & Zyke those notorious hackers. I heard that they use the good ol' datastream exploit from 95.

why doesn't c16 make an anti-cheat? i'm sure people would pay out of their asses for it. I know i would .__.

 

Yeah i think this is legit because i had a server recently and it got hacked and ftp badly screwed, loads of files gone, whole lot of damage.

Someone out there is going around, somehow getting full access to FTP's.

Yesterday, I was waiting in the TS support and some random guy joined and was asking if I wanted Schema keys which I declined, and then he was saying how theres backdoors in c16 and thats hes going to hack servers and stuff like that.

 

If you're willing to pay, I'll make an Anti-Cheat that patches these exploits and detects bypassers. If you're interested, leave your steam profile page here and I'll add you and speak to you later on.

 

There's no backdoors in CW. Little point in having them with CAX.

Disabling cslua and other lua things like that wouldn't help. That's why there is a bypasser. Which is why a anti-cheat will detect the player entering the console commands and ban them.

 

Disabling cslua absolutely would help. Just because there are ways to bypass it doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. When you download an anti-virus, you're not expecting it to catch every single virus ever...you're expecting it to catch as many as it can.
