Nox Aeterna is a serious roleplay community revolving around the renowned novel, Metro 2033, by Dmitry Glukhovsky. The storyline of Metro 2033 is full of vast opportunities for serious roleplay and as a community, we have taken grasp of this opportunity and have put it in action via Clockwork. We strive to provide a quality, detailed roleplay experience for all who wish to participate. We work quite differently; instead of the classic, "Super Administrator", "Administrator", "Operator", etc. we instead have a 'council' of three. The council is made up of two chairmen and one member. They all work together to provide new events, ideas, development and content for the community to keep players captured in the roleplay experience. We also have an 'operator team', which consists of three operators and two senior operators. We do not offer staff applications and instead look for our staff members in a different fashion - by choosing them for their helpfulness ingame, for their roleplay experience and for their attitude. We interview each and every candidate by voice before allowing them near a staff position. We hope you enjoy our player friendly roleplay experience.

We have a vast array of factions to become a part of. We even allow small playermade factions for those who wish to create one.





Survivors are the mainframe of all roleplay in our community. It is what you start as. There are plenty of opportunities as a survivor. You could be an adventurer, a mercenary, a store clerk, a trader, a scavenger, etc. Its your choice of what you become. Survivors are the living humans of the great war of 2013... that haven't become mutated. We allow expansive roleplay scenarios for survivors and allow them to participate in all events. We love to receive ideas for this faction and are coming up with our own as you read this.





The Rangers of the Order are an elite faction of trained, strong soldiers. Their main station is Polis, where most important briefings and such are held. They actively recruit new recruits who are willing to endure rough training to serve the Rangers. They are one of the more 'neutral' factions, of which does not currently battle with any main factions.





The Red Line is a socialist and communist faction that is highly influenced by the Soviet Union. They have a gigantic army of less well trained soldiers, which makes them a strong force in numbers but not necessarily in quality. They too actively recruit new members and are in a continuous war with the facist, Nazi Fourth Reich.





The Fourth Reich is a facist, Nazi faction that is highly influenced by the Third Reich and the reign of Adolf Hitler. They appear to have evolved from a smaller group into the tough, brute force oriented faction of the Metro. They follow the Nazi ranking and do have a Fuhrer, who performs speeches regularly.





Mutants... those horrible things who formed from other animals and even humans who, before, may have been relatively harmless. They contain a large array of different types, all formed from different animals. Most notable are the Dark Ones, who formed from humans and have developed telepathic powers.

There are a few other factions, as well. Such as Hansa; the trading based faction of which is the only faction with modern technology. Even working computers. There is also traders and bandits. Bandits are a survivor based thing of which anyone may become, but only in groups.

Why did we choose Metro 2033 Roleplay?

Because we felt that Metro 2033 Roleplay has a lot of unsaid opportunities for roleplay and could really prosper for serious roleplay.

How do we fund the community?

Sparky currently pays for the teamspeak, server and webhosting + domain. We do, of course, accept donations, but we keep benefits to a fair level for people who do not wish or cant afford to donate. We always appreciate contributions and they all go towards paying for community related things.

What are our future plans?

We do plan on upgrading to the Xenforo forum software, hiring an experienced developer and creating our own schema in the future.

I suggest making the factions abit more descriptive, although apart from that awesome job on the thread! Glad to see my work, being put to good use.

 

Also can you not have absolutely ridiculous donations packs (or even donations in general) for this because oh my god, some of the previous stuff. It makes me think you are trying to use communities as a business. It's awful.

Otherwise, not a half-bad thread.

Also your forum is okay. I'm surprised it's not another pirated xf cause that seems to be the trend, or atleast xf in general. smf is a bitch to customise though unless you know how..

Hope this community works for you Sparky. I might come along with some friends, I've only played MetroRP once. All I can remember is being executed for having a small head. I'm willing to give it another go though.

Also, the reason why some of the faction descriptions aren't really that long is because I was doing this from like 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM and was getting tired as hell.

I like the thread, it presents really well, but the canon bit doesn't seem to tell me much. It's just a little story bit with some links to what the items used in it are. I feel like telling people the real scenario, what's going on and all in the same way that you did there would be more informative. At this point, it just seems like it takes up space.

After all, this is an advertisement, not a roleplay example thread.

 

Really great thread, very similar to the format I used as well. All the graphics were very captivating and made me eager to join your community.
