Other One Year Later. . .

About a year ago I think around the Spring* ((It was spring)) I made mentioning of a project that had peaked the interest of myself ever since Gmod migrated versions. From promises that were unkept to updates that fizzled out it seems one year later I still remain and excited for with wallet and credit card at hand for the release of an old friend that seems to have fallen off the radar. Yes ladies and gentlemen I speak of the long lost Serverance plugin. On my recent visit I have noticed that the topic has been taken down all together. What news does anyone have? What discouraging comment could drift around to crush my hopes and dreams of supporting the fantastically merciless roleplay plugin known as serverance? Who knows?!

On a side note: Since I am under the assumption development has come to a halt I have decided to put it in as a mere discussion. Perhaps a search for answers. . .

 

It's not happening anytime soon.
I hate to be blunt, but there's a very large possibility it's never coming out. With the current environment, lack of developers, and overall lack of encouragement that plagues the developer team it's very uncommon any future schemas will even surface from this company.

Ain't it that damn zombie game? Stumped man.

It's not necessarily hard to make your own zombie game mode, is it? If I remember right, the only true thing Severance offered back in the day was a CEDA faction and models, a few gun and food items, it's own zombie, and few effects. A lot of the can be expanded on just by using the workshop, no? I love Zombie RP, and grew up on Severance, but it's not a huge heartbreaker if it isn't out, in my opinion,

Honestly if you make your own, 90% of the time it will be shit, but it'll be your shit, and you can make it whatever you want it to be. When in doubt hire someone else to do.

BUT also that still holds true, as I've seen new devs make impressive stuff.

 

Yeah, if I wanted to make some jury rigged Zombie RP, it would be pretty shit. But zombie RP doesn't exactly have to be as well polished as say, HL2. Code in weapons, food, maybe armor, get a zombie NPC pack, and, well, you basically got yourself a Zombie RP. I mean, its more intricate then that, but, I don't know why someone needs a whole new schema for it. It'd be nice for it to be out, but it's no hurry.

 

I don't mind Zombie RP but it's mostly generic and run-of-the-mill which can be good or bad depending on the person. However, it'd be nice to have something which switches up the stereotypical "virus made everyone zombie" ordeal without straying far away from what makes Zombie RP well, Zombie RP.

 

Time to bring back Nightmare RP :^)

Looks awesome. How does infection work as a bar?

 

You get hit by a zambie and it goes up. There are vaccine items and such. There will be effects and such to show that you are infected. You'll see how healthy someone is when you look at them, they'll have debilitating effects, etc.

There's not really anything to get in on. It's not playable. I just got cops working, tho.



Character Customization is in the schema, too, so some crazy customization for citizens is possible as well because it uses Enhanced Citizens.
