WHO ARE WE?

We are a small, tight-knit community that was established in December, 2015. During this month, our small team has been working on a project we have dubbed 'Archon'. Archon is modification of the Clockwork schema to fit our needs as a roleplay gamemode set within the Star Wars universe, specifically, the Clone Wars.

As with all communities, ours is in its early stages of development, thus, many things posted in this thread may be subject to change in the near future. Please note that this is not a finished product, all feedback, both positive and negative will be used as data to improve both our service as a community and as well as a service provider.

The year is 22BBY and the Galactic Republic is in the depths of turmoil and unrest. Thousands of star systems and corporations, notably the Trade Federation has formed and banded together under the Confederacy of Independent Systems under leadership and guidance of Count Dooku.

With crisis and panic riling through the Republic, the first notable battle of the Clone Wars takes the place, The Battle of Geonosis, where twelve Acclamator-class assault ships landed within the deserts of Geonosis and off-loaded infantry, armored vehicles, artillery, and air support and engaged the separatists in an sudden, overwhelming assault in an attempt to catch them off-guard.

This is where your story begins, as a fresh cadet within the 42nd Legion, you're trained in the ways of combat and bred for one purpose; war.
With conflict swamping the air, preparations are made on the SS Encounter, a standard republic acclamator-class assault ship, on course for Geonosis to aid in the seizure and liberation of the planet surfaces.

Our current timeline is set mere days before the events of the Battle of Geonosis. On board of the SS Encounter, clones await to be trained and deployed onto the field of battle.

Factions
Grand Army of the Republic
As the main military back-bone of the Galactic Republic, the entire army is comprised of clone soldiers, created by those who reside on Kamino. As a clone trooper, you are subjected to intense combat training exercises and drills in order to prepare you for war. As a clone, you hold the rank of Cadet at the start of your career in the army and are organized into small squads for the sole purpose of learning patience, teamwork and cooperation.

Separatist Alliance
The Confederacy of Independent Systems, also known as the Separatist Alliance, is a compromise of corporations and star systems that have joined in union to break away from the republic. Disgusted at their taxation and corruption, which leads into the secession crisis, during this, the union manufactures droids to fill their droid army, their ground army force that was a sub-section of the Confederate military.

There are few other factions that are included within the server, the Jedi, Sith and planet inhabitants that will be expanded on during events, such as Wookies.

Events
When playing on our servers, events are a big part of our structure and how things work and come together. Events, also known as Operations, are missions that are given to clones and are conducted off-ship and usually on planetary ground, however, there are some cases where pilots are required for space operations and missions.

The first operation of the servers opening, will be connected to where the story-so-far has left us, where the SS Encounter is on its way towards the planet of Geonosis. This event will cover the story of the 42nd Legion (You, the players.) and their role during the first battle of the Clone Wars.

Ranking System
As with all military-focused roleplay servers, this one is no exception to ranks. This server will include lore-friendly ranks in the clone army, which are as followed:

Cadet - This rank is that given to a clone that is still undergoing training.
Private - A standard clone trooper, these are the back-bone to the army.
Private First Class - Those who proved themselves are promoted to PFC.
Corporal - These troopers are hardened veterans, one rank below leadership.
Sergeant - The first step into leadership ranks, able to control a squad of up to six.
Staff Sergeant - Above Sergeant, able to lead a squad of ten.
Lieutenant - These are distinguished leaders, able to lead up to a squad of sixteen.
Captain - High-ranking individual, leads entire uniforms of up to twenty-four.
Commanders - These are the highest rank a clone can achieve, can lead the entire SS Encounter's battalion.

Activities
Being on a ship, travelling around space sounds fun, in theory, but in Garry's Mod you're stuck on a map that doesn't move, fortunately for you, there are many activities to partake in on the ship as you await your next orders.

Training - As dull as it sounds, training is one of the many activities you can partake in. Whether it be physical exercise, weapon training or parade and marching protocol, there always room to improve.

Passive Roleplay - Yes, you heard it folks, passive roleplay. If you're going to go out into battle, you're going to want to know who's standing by your side when the time comes. Make friends, having that soldier who you can rely on can be the difference between life and death.

Player Made Activities - Not everything can be as simple as jotting down what you can and can't do. Rather, what your imagination or those around you can make, whether it be marching through the main halls, distinguishing your squad in front of the others. Fixing up the engine room due to faulty wires, or taking out a transport ship on a test run and practice for landing procedures in the event of war, it's up to you to make the roleplay.

A bit more could be included in the thread, such as what the roleplay is like (reminiscent of adamant, or taking place on geonosis?) and some things that you can do on the server could be included.

If you aren't prepared to share these things then I suggest you take the thread down and post it when you can share more details.

Hello, thank you for the correction, the date should be fixed now.

As for information regarding the server, this is more of a ground-work to get our community out there, the server, as of yet it is still under heavily development so many of the details cannot be spared right now. However, I will see about adding more information to the current post.

Average thread, not much information, but that's understandable. (For now)
I'm not really into anything similar to military RP so this quickly turned me off, but I might hop in once it's released just to have a look.
As for suggestions, add some more information to the thread. The lore, factions, etc.
Also, I think C is a rather original name for a thread.

 

It is suggested the you don't post in the community boards until you are prepared to share a good bit of information about your project. Also, it's there. I don't want to seem like that guy, but when I'm role playing and see someone use grammar like that it just sort of breaks my immersion, I would hope to not see an owner make simple mistakes like this while role playing.

On this note, may I ask what map you will be using @Vestia

 

Here's a few questions

• Will this be like Adamant Gaming? Or will this be more less-serious based.
• Will there be other battalions to play/join as?
• Are all players default placed in the 42nd Legion?
  
• Is there certain specialization classes to promote roleplay?
• Will there be divisions?
• Will there be certain other factions to play as?
• Will there be missions planned and operated by admins.
• Will there be any passive roleplay since the thread mentions we are on the Genosian Planet.
• Will the server have it's own story, being as the Battalion continues to roleplay they finally move off the planet?
• Will there be periods where the main faction is placed in a certain position (being a planet or ship and etc)
  
• Will we rotate maps frequently?

We will be using the RP_Venator_V2 as our main ship hub, and other maps for operations, such as Kashyyyk and Geonosis.

1. Although I have never personally played Adamant Gaming, or knew their methods of roleplay and ethics. We are a serious roleplaying community and with that, we won't tolerate anything less than serious, we have set rules in place that our administration team will abide and enforce them at their discretion.

2. As of now, the 42nd Legion will be the main battalions to play as, however, as the server progresses as well as its story, we will look into adding more battalions to join.

3. As of now, all players are automatically placed within the 42nd Legion, though, as stated everything is a work-in-progress and is subject to change depending on public outlook.

4. Yes, you may specialize within different trees of the battalion, some examples; Piloting, Engineering, and Medical Service.

5. Depending on the popularity of the server, this has yet to be decided.

6. Officially, while on-board the ship, no. However, during operations, you may be able to opt to play as the opposing force of that event. For example you could choose to play a droid within the confederacy, same as friendly races such as Wookies.

7. Yes, operations are planned events by admins that will be a map change of the server to a different planet. Each planet will be pre-built before release, so it feels like natural progression from the ship to planet.

8. We are briefly on Geonosis to play out the first battle of the Clone Wars, think of it as an opening event. The majority of passive roleplay will be held on-board the ship.

9. As above, they are constantly on the move, depending on the operations the staff team decide to construct.

10. Yes, the 42nd decide to setup camp on Kashyyyk for example and build an F.O.B with the options from the ship on the planets surface so we're able to still train newer players.

11. Most likely yes, being dumped in a ship for long periods is no fun for anyone.
