Noticed this hadn't been posted, so I decided to (wow amazing right?).

Protector - a Half-Life 2 short

 

It's awesome.

Already seen it tho. ;D

 

Never seen it before, just watched it.

Amazing work.

 

The opposite of how most people roleplay Civil Protection, not saying that they need to kill their fellow officers, but they could at least feel some empathy.

 

Don't forget the Combine soldiers coming through the roof.

 

I actually found that pretty deep for some reason.

 

Or argue how a 9mm couldn't kill him even though the back of his headgear is made out of plastic, rubber, and metal, sucks how some servers make it so you can't even do stuff like that, I'm lucky most of my RP wasn't always this shit, I remember I've even killed some sort of EpU before where I did a /it saying that suddenly he feels something on the back of his head and then a loud bang with blackness after that, he didn't get mad because it appeared that it was a long time ever since someone ever actually RPed killing him.

 

People are afraid of losing their characters, that's an issue that likely won't dissipate.

OT:

That was a very well made short, DP films is some good stuff.

 

I never want my characters to die, but I have stopped minding about it when it happens. Just create a new one and start over.

 

I enjoy the fact that this video cooperates with the lore, rather than it just being some ripoff and random video that someone made.
What I'm glad to see, mostly, is that they respect 05's still having emotions, etc.
But, anyways. Good video. Deep, if anything.

 

05's aren't lore, neither EpU's, at least within purely HL2 itself. It's up to interpretation by the players.

But yes, most new officers shouldn't be heartless already (although it depends on the personality type). Even seasoned officers might have emotions (actually, all officers do. Since they do not get modified in any transhuman way).

 

Erm, given. But, what the hell? I need to seriously start going back to looking at HL2 lore.

 

I'm just saying, since there is no sightings of officers with a different uniform. And the only rank referenced by Overwatch seems to be "Team Leader" if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I believe we've been derailing this a bit.

As always, with Alex Portman, the video has a very high quality and a good theme in it. The scenes matched the music accurately.
